Some Christmas Glow

Hello and happy December!  I've been waiting to blog until I had The Jolly Postman's tour sorted, but he is still waiting for me to complete his travel notebook. Sorry!  Are you enjoying a lovely Advent season?
I did some more decorating today.  I saw a lovely garland full of Christmas balls (on a vlog) so I tried to make one of my ratty old garlands into a bobble garland.  I'll take a photo of it for next time.  I hung it on the Santa curtained window.  I have a few more things to do in the decorating department.  Are you doing any baking?  Making any gifts?
Time for a long winter's nap for Tim.
Here's my mom getting ready to take a walk with my niece.  Isn't she great with her walking sticks?  I hope I get some walking sticks for Christmas.
Jenny brought the girls over for a little baking.  She took a nice snooze.
I made these socks last year.  They are kind of crazy but cozy!  I've been knitting a lot.  I skip around from project to project.

Some days I feel very Christmas-y and focused and other days I'm scattered and lazy.  Maybe I need more naps like Tim.

I baked scones today and they were a real treat. Meatloaf for dinner.  I'm going to bop around and visit some blogs now.  Thank you so much for stopping in to say hello!

Your home looks so cozy and cheerful! I made an orange loaf cake and an apple crisp today. Need to start my Christmas baking this weekend or I won't get it done in time to give away!

Christmas will soon be a-knocking on our doors, won't it. I never seem to be ready. Your home looks lovely and cosy, dear Pom Poms.

Your home looks very festive, inviting, and full of warmth.
I too feel Christmassy at times and sometimes I feel like curling for a nice winter's nap like Timothy... It's getting colder and my time outdoors is lacking. Good for your mom for going for a walk outdoors. I hope you get your walking sticks for Christmas. All I want for Christmas is sanity to return to our crazy world.
Stay safe and well.
Hugs, Julia

I know what you mean about lack of focus, so many people are saying the same thing. Lovely socks!

So lovely to 'see' you! I just discovered that I can get one of those fire screens on my tv too. They're very atmospheric. I've also been knitting socks, to be given out to the homeless in Edinburgh. I hope they keep someone warm this Christmas time. I love those walking sticks (we call them hiking poles over here). I could do with a pair too. I'm really trying to get everything together on time, let's hope it works. Have a great weekend my friend.xxx

Hello there dear lady. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your place. Some days I've got it and some days I don't! Your mom is the cutest. Walking sticks are such a good idea. I'll be baking one batch of cookies on Tuesday to take to a luncheon that day. Other than that no baking here. I won't be making presents, either. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

So much good stuff! I enjoyed feasting my eyes on all the bright colors in the top photo. I look forward to seeing Jolly, but no need to be sorry. He'll be a nice surprise when he pops up! I got ingredients to make my mom's version of fruitcake. It's chock full of pecans, dates and maraschino cherries, sliced very thinly. I really like it! It's called Treasure Chest Fruitcake. (Probably because the ingredients cost an arm and a leg, lol! But it will be worth it!) I see the fire on your TV screen. I was watching one last night that had beautiful classical music. I still admire folks who can knit socks. I just watch videos about it! Hugs and Merry Christmas to you all!

I think I would be conflicted in your house, PomPom. I would want to soak up the cozy and festive feeling, and look at all the bright decorations, smell the cookies -- or help you bake -- but all that warmth and comfort and peace..... would tend toward hibernating instincts... my eyelids would droop, and I would settle into a long winter's nap. Not sure if Santa would be able to wake me on Christmas Eve!

Hello, Karen! Your home looks very cheery and sparkly and happy for Christmas! I hope you've had a lovely month with lots of baking and family and happy days. Your mom is looking great! I wish my mom could still go for walks, but she is too unsteady.
I'm knitting too - you have inspired me with all your fun socks :)
