Merry Merry Merry

Hello holiday merry makers!  December is sailing by, isn't it?  My mama sent me a pattern for a prayer square.  Isn't it nice?  I think it's just for holding, kind of like a clinging cross.
When I sit, I sit here.  I'm usually surrounded by books, journals, knitting, stickers, pencils, and coffee.  I think I may have a tendency to sit a little too long.
I've been working on my Advent journal.  It's a "junk journal" by design, but I am filling it with thoughts of Advent.

I found a recipe for date bread in that Ideals publication.  It was so tasty.  Too tasty.

The four kids cannot agree about which Christmas troll is theirs.  I like groups of four.  Smile.

 More of my journal.

We've had an eventful December with children's theater shows, chorale concerts, small group meeting, Christmas party for Community Bible Study leadership council, and soon we'll have grands about and then Christmas!  Wow!
This one is completely worn out.  He enjoys many naps and looks adorably cute so he receives boundless love.

How is your Advent coming along?  Have you been baking?  Addressing Christmas cards?  Watching movies?  Taking walks?
Thank you for stopping by!
I am brewing up The Jolly Postman's adventure.  It's going to be very wordy and very sweet.
Merry merry merry to you!
LOVE!

I like your cozy spot where you sit surrounded by everything you need, I like your Advent journal too. Will you keep it and add to it next year and the next, etc..?

Timothy reminds me so much of our Dumperoo. I love how they curl those little feet up under their chin. Dumper does that too. Your comfortable place to sit is so pretty. Oh, I could spend the day there.

If only I could get out of my cosy corner on the sofa and get busy with Christmas! I love your tree. I have completely minimised this year and have relegated the 2ft high tree to the landing!Happy weekend to you my fabulous friend.xxx

Hi Karen, lovely to see your post drawing us towards the meaning of Christmas, it encouraged me to slow down for a moment. Yesterday I invited the little girl next door round to decorate our tree, she asked to watch Grinch with us and we had chocolate milk, (she said 'I'm awesome at braiding hair, shall I do yours for you' .. of course I had to accept such a generous offer! and I had secretly hoped someone might do just that for ages so it was a bit of an unexpected gift!) Blessings to you and yours. Betty x

Looks like a comfy spot to sit too long in! :)
What a wonderful project your journal is. I like it.
Our Christmas card/letter went out on Thursday and it is always a nice sigh of relief to send them on their way. Last two days were a little too busy decorating, etc. Sore back and neck...oye. No baking thoughts yet.
Happy weekend to you.

Your sitting spot is a lot like mine. Always piles of things that I don't want to be too far away from. Yes, I sit too much, too! With all of the cold weather and snow we've had I've been sticking close to home. Reading, doing art and drinking hot drinks. I'm so thankful for my hard working son-in-law who is right now plowing the driveway with his Bobcat. But it's beautiful looking out the window! God bless you and yours! (Excited about the Jolly Postman!)

Oh, Pom Pom, how wonderful it is to check in with you again, finally!!!
My new lifestyle has kept me away from my blogging far, far too much!!!
The C.S. Lewis quote is one of my favorites. Your journaling is gorgeous and uplifting, always. Timothy... my goodness... he is THE SWEETEST. Cats were put here for boundless love (dogs too). I just cannot get enough of them. EVER.
Your grands are beautiful and blessed beyond measure to have you.
I wish you the merriest and holiest of Christmas seasons ever, my beautiful friend.
With so much love,
Danette

I definitely sit too long. I have made my seating corner far too cosy - throws, audio book, "real" books and my knitting and sewing basket and mugs of tea. Your December sounds very busy. I love visiting here you are such refreshing company. Wishing you and Bill much peace and joy this Christmas. x

Hi, PomPom!! Our December seemed very busy to me, too busy. As you describe, it was full of community and church activities and responsibilities which were fun and delightful and festive ... but too many of them. I'm worn out. I kept telling myself, "In January, it will be calm and quiet again."

Having baby Isaac here was sheer delight. It was a good Christmas. I do love that sweet quote you shared from Chrysostom.
