A Little Horse and Some Polka Dots

Hello to you!  I chose some photos from my archives today, because I rarely look at them and they give me a lot of joy.
This cute mini horse is named Snickers.  She escapes through the fence and wanders onto Kelli's driveway.  Every time we go to Kelli's house I hope that Snickers will be out for a little ramble.  Isn't she adorable?  She isn't super nice.  She bit Miss Bug one time, but she is awfully cute.

Mags from Belfast sent me this lovely book and I read it to the kids when we ate stew and such on St. Patrick's Day a few years ago.  I love the daffodils in this picture and I really love the green and white polka dot tablecloth.

In Rumer Godden's book Thus Far and No Further she says that there should be a little bit of pink in every room, remember?
I order a quilted cover for our bed and I love the pink paisley print.  Now to hang curtains with a little bit of pink, too.
I have grandiose plans of painting the laundry room a light pink and then making a pink calico curtain to add cheer.
I have some new pink wall stickers but I have to decide where to put them.
When our oldest grand Cadence was here she said, "Your house is so cozy."  She made her granny feel very happy.  I think cozy is the highest compliment that can be paid when it comes to our dwelling place.
I am off to the aquarium with some grands and their mommies today.
Yay!
How is January treating you, kind reader?

Cosy is a lovely word and it's good to feel that our homes are appreciated!

I completely agree that cozy is the absolute highest compliment! I hope you will show your new pink cover when it comes. The laundry room redo sounds very nice.

Have a fun day today. All of your warm pictures are such nice reminders to the spring someday on a cold day like today. Pink is such a nice color. I love your green polka dot table cloth.

Cute pony! Well, I think I might have a bit of pink in most rooms. So far January is humming along nicely. All of the Christmas décor is packed away as of yesterday. I was quite tired with a sore back from all the hauling and hoisting. Enjoy the aquarium!

Snickers is the cutest little pony, though she ought not to bite. I finally read my first Rumer Godden book and she is brilliant. The book was Kingfishers Catch Fire. I had not heard her quote about pink.

Hi there, I've not visited for quite a while! It's lovely to visit again.

I love it if people say my house is cosy, makes me feel all warm and cosy inside! And I definitely love the pony, so cute :)

Well, Pom, we are only 3 days into January 2019, and already it has been full of great joys and a good bit of high stress. Sigh. Story of our lives! I do think PINK is a very happy color, and it does cheer a room without smacking you in the face :) It reminds me of childhood and whimsy. I bet your home IS cozy, and it's so, so good that your grandchildren feel it.

I like the idea of a little pink in every room! And the daffodills are so cheerful!

I agree with the cosy being the highest compliment your granddaughter can give you about your home. She is very observant.
I do have pink in my sunroom but I never wear pink for some reason.
Hugs, Julia

I loved seeing the daffodils. Very soon they should be available here ( greenhouse grown, of course) and I can hardly wait. I think 2019 will be my Year of Flowers.

I hope the aquarium was a lot of fun.

I would love to visit your cosy home! It is always a beautiful thing to look through old photographs. They always bring back lovely memories. That Snickers is very sweet. Love the pretty plate on which the daffodils are resting...so very pretty and spring-like.

Cozy is, indeed, the highest compliment! I'm so looking forward to nesting in my new home. Should be soon! I just bought a colorful kantha quilt for my twin bed, which will go in the small bedroom when I move. I'm planning for that to be my prayer room and to have maps on the wall to remind me to pray for Israel and the persecuted church. Have you watched War Room? That's the basic idea, but it won't be a bare closet. I'm going to make it cozy with a rocking chair and bookcase. It's a very small room. You always have cheerful plans!

Curtains and tablecloths, quilts and pink things, green polka dots... these all do cozy-up a place, but the real warmth comes from the woman of the house and her love. You, Pom Pom, are the coziest.
