Rainy Day Rambles

I'd like to share my favorite salad with you.  Pretty, huh?
Our Colorado has been WET lately.  It's sort of hard to take considering we usually have such sunny days.  I want to get out in the garden and I have pulled a few weeds, but I haven't planned and planted yet.  Soon!
I think I planted the pansy barrels one month ago!  We had a sunny appetizer before the rain, I guess.

Everything in the back yard is a little forlorn looking.  I must order the dishes and tubs for the littlest grans.  They like to play in the Wendy house.  It's just the right size for them.  They do not neatly order things or arrange the little toys in a storybook fashion.  They sort of just throw things around.  That's their way.

Bill bought my mom and me a big Mother's Day balloon and it's still floating around the living room.
Soon (like yesterday) we'll need to start packing the kitchen because the kitchen wonder worker is coming to demo on Tuesday.  Yeeeeeeee  haaaaaaaaaw!
I'm slightly distracted by this book club book!
I have a stack of three more good reads that I'll tell you about soon (when I can't be in the kitchen).
I realize that my plan is a little unconventional, but I am putting this variety of china knobs on our new cabinets.  Do you like them? Which pair do you like best?
I've been snoozy today and yesterday (the weather).  I am watching season 4 of Call the Midwife.  The characters are so kind, so loving.  It's really inspiring.  I've always liked nun stories and I LOVE newborn babies.
Thank you for calling in today.  I am always delighted that you thought to pop by.

Here's hoping all goes well with your kitchen reno! I did watch season 4 of Call the Midwife. It wasn't my favorite season so far but I love so many of the cast!

I have never seen a cucumber and strawberry salad before? Do you put a dressing on it?

I love the owl knobs! I cry every episode of Call the Midwife. Those nuns are so wise and I love the simplicity of their relationship with the Lord.

1. I love your lovely Pansies 2. I also love your unique cabinet handles, I have 9 of that sort. Not nearly enough to do a kitchen though 3. I have watched every episode of Call the Midwife as well as read one of the books ( on which the series was based). The nuns are very sweet aren't they? Many of my teachers were nuns and I found them to be very nurturing.Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend before the great kitchen adventure.

I love Call the Midwife. I just started it yesterday. I cry though the whole thing. Seeing newborns does that to me.
I do love all of the stories too.
I love your knobs, I would have a hard time picking. Rain, my goodness, We had rain for 7 hours today, it was wonderful.
My sister had got almost 4 feet with more on the way this weekend.
Small ones do like to play but don't like to put it a way do they?
Have a lovely weekend. Happy Demolition! Come on new kitchen.

I smiled when I read about your balloon floating about the living room. A couple of years ago I had a get well balloon that did that. It would travel all around the house, going upstairs at times too. It seemed to last forever. : )
Always fun to stop by here.

I like the four knobs in the lower right corner but I also LOVE that larger turquoise pair -it looks like they have lavender morning glories oh them. All cute! Bet you can't wait to get that kitchen done.

Cute pictures and I love the sweet pansies. Looks like the kiddos have fun playing with their stuff-that is as it should be.

Happy reading- xo Diana

Who would think a kitchen remake could be so exciting! but yours is - because you are making a real fairy tale kitchen that children as well as adults will love. I like all the door knobs - are you allowed to have them all? just randomly? I hope you will have some pretty tiling too? do you know what would be so beautiful - but probably impossible to organise (I know) to have the grands paint you some pictures on blank tiles then have them put into the splashback - wouldn't that be special! Maybe one day I will do a kitchen like that as I guess it's my dream and maybe not yours! who knows. Anyhow, sorry about the rain - we are used to that here in the uK for sure! infact it's ok when you have trees - maybe your garden needs trees, for shelter from the rain. Enjoy your books. Betty :D

Oh I love ALL the door knobs. What a pretty idea!!!! Kitchen redo at last, I bet you're excited!
Kids always put things back messily, I'm permanently having to retidy the music room as they sling things anywhere!!!x

I'm going to try that strawberry salad. It looks yum-yum. My goodness, those 'Driscolls' raspberries get everywhere! I just bought some last week. They make great jam! You do the same as I do too, growing your seeds in the empty containers. Yay for recycling! Yippee for your kitchen re-do. I'm drawn towards the larger yellow knobs and the four pretty little ones to the right of the pic - they have a vintagey look to them. Have a great weekend, pal-o-mine. xxx

I love the two square knobs at the upper left with little houses and trees on them and also the little round one with a sun and the green and blue one behind it (also on left.) Cannot wait to see your new kitchen!

Oh Karen, are you tired of the rain yet? Can you believe this? We have done nothing in the yard and garden here. The state certainly is beautifully green, isn't it? I am excited to see your kitchen remodel. Ours is complete except for the electrial cover plates that had to be special ordered. And flooring that will have to wait. As for knobs, I like the owls and tulips. Stay dry.

Those china knobs are so "Pom Pom-esque"! I love them all, but I suppose the owls would be my favorites. I'm so proud of you for having the courage to be unconventional! I can't wait to see the finished kitchen!
I may have to look in on Call the Midwife. I've been watching so much English TV I'm beginning to talk to myself in an English accent! :D

Lovely to catch up with you and hear about the kitchen renovations. My favourite door knobs are the 4 bottom right with the flower decoration, so sweet.

New kitchen sound fun and those knobs are all great. Yep, the rain, I have a garden under all the river in our backyard. LOL The bright side is our windows are open and we are enjoying the unseasonal cool breeze.

I bet you're in the thick of the kitchen redo right now. I love your bright knobs. My favorite would be the yellow ones with the flower in the middle, and the criss-crossy pattern. They are bright and big :) I long to watch Midwife again! Perhaps I'll go check PBS.org. I bet they are on there.

What rain y'all have had, and in Texas too. THey are swimming away! I hope you get a few dry, sunny days that let the flowers grow.
