Walking in October

Plum Cake is walking all the time now.  She can get up by herself when she falls.

Here's Mommy peeking out the window at Sam (she was digging in the dirt with Miss Bug).  Everyone likes the spotty blanket.

Round the corner she goes!  We have to block the stairs.
Do you like my funny bug?  Miraculous!
This bird was singing so loudly.  He likes all the dead stalks (it froze the other night) and he stayed put for quite a while.

It's a beautiful blue-sky day here in my neighborhood!  The leaves are changing.
 Bill trimmed the peonies.

October is busy for us, but when the last week rolls around it will be time for my fall break.  Yay!
I wish someone would make me an apple crisp.  Do you have a good apple crisp recipe?
I made some cinnamon sun tea today because I think cinnamon is a good spice for October.
I'm off to make a baked bean casserole.  I hope you are enjoying a peaceful October in your neck of the woods.
Thank you for stopping by!

I would come and make you an apple crisp. Do I have a recipe, no I would make up one just for you. :)
Your photos are so nice. I am so happy about all of your other news too. I have been sneezing too much to think.
I sort of feel like a blob.
I love your photos. I hope you have a very nice week next week.

Plum Cake appears to be getting around very nicely in her adorable little hat.
I enjoyed these glimpses of October in your area. Beautiful blue sky.
I was googling apple crisp recipes the other day, but never got around to making one. Sure does sound good right about now.

It's been so long since we had a baby around, I'd forgotten that particular look/stance they have, when they're first learning to walk - SO cute! Sigh. That bug is fascinating -- isn't it amazing how he looks just like a green leaf? And the grass with the sprinkling of dry leaves on top -- that's one of my very favorite looks in autumn, while out walking. Makes me want to RAKE into a pile!

Oh that li'l Plum Cake. She's so cute! Looks like you had a nice fall walk today. I did too. I think Susan Branch's Cranberry Apple Crisp is The Best Ever. I can't wait for fall to make it. The recipe is in the fall book or probably on her blog. Wish I could make one for you. If you don't have cranberries, you can use craisins (I do!). Happy October Pommy!

Adorable baby, hat and leaf bug and blanket! Applecrisp is so easy: crumble brown sugar and butter and oats, if you like them, a little bit of salt and flour together till you have large crumbs. Butter pan, slice apples. Add cinnamon everywhere, crumbs, apples. Layer apples in bottom of pan, crumbs on top. Dot with more butter, sprinkle with more sugar and more cinnamon. Bake. Probably at 375 till crumbs are golden and apples soft. I never peel anything. You van add chopped nuts or primed or raisins or anything. Enjoy ;) (for best results; serve with ice cream)

Such a fun all post! I love it when the leaves start changing. Ours are still very thick, green and hanging on the trees this year. I heard it's because we got an abundance of rain this summer. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Ah, I think your bug is a katydid! It is a nice one!
Congrats to little Miss Plum Cake on her excellent walking. Her little lamb cap is just what my daughter is looking for for a Halloween costume for Hazel!
Beautiful fall pictures. I hope you find a good apple crisp recipe, dear friend! :)

Hi Pompom - is apple crisp like apple crumble, or is it something different?
Another blogger I follow had a lovely recipe for cinnamon buns - I'm very tempted to make them, but I fear they wouldn't be good for my waistline!
