The teacups came in the mail. I don't know how my mama had time to package them up and mail them, but I am so glad she did!
As I was making room for them, I found my tiny nativity figures. They were in a Christmas mug that I didn't use last holiday season. Now I will leave them set up in the china hutch.
I still have my big glassware from our wedding almost thirty-five years ago. I remain VERY thankful for all the sweet wedding gifts we received.
My friend Catherine from An Angel in the Garden reminded me to go slow today. Resist the rush. What will that look like for you?

Oh, they are so pretty! And they all arrived safely and in one piece...hooray! :)
Resisting the rush...I try to enjoy each moment one at a time. xxx
The tea cups are wonderful...and I too am still very thoughtful of the wedding gifts we received 33 years ago...and as my children marry I see how much more I am.
fun post!
Oh, Pom!! Those cups and saucers! They're delicious. How very thoughtful and loving of your mama :) I would sit and gaze at them all day! Wedding gifts do seem to become more precious with the years, don't they? I still remember which friends gave some of them to us. So sweet.
Going slow and resisting rush? Well, right now that looks like sitting here in my comfy chair, in my PJs, with my laptop, looking at your lovely china, at 9:30 AM :) I considered driving to "big town" with Adam to visit someone in the hospital, but decided to stay home. My afternoon is fuller, so I wanted a quiet morning. Blessings to you as you avoid rushing!
What beautiful cups! I bet each one is priceless to you.
Oh gosh, Pom Pom, I need to try and resist the rush. To carve out quiet each day.
I am finding it harder and harder right now to do that.
I will ponder that today. Thanks for the reminder.
sweet tea cup sets!
For some reason I am not seeing any tea cups. I've refreshed three times and still no tea cups. But, I am seeing your wee little nativity set, which is adorable. You'll be ahead of the game when Christmas rolls around again.
Beautiful tea cups! How lovely of your mother to send them.
I resist the rush by sitting on my back porch and reading or writing in my journal. I'm trying to rest more, especially right now, when things are very busy.

Sweet mama for sending teacups! My favorite is the solid green one. I have a collection that's on permanent, usable display on a kitchen shelf. I use one everyday for tea. Most of mine are transferware as it's a favorite of mine.
It am getting rid of lots of things through three garage sales...I may regret it, but I feel it is time to pare down...trying not to rush, though.
Thanks for sharing your mom's beautiful teacups, which are now your beautiful teacups! Mom's love to give their children good gifts. My favorite would be the one under the little creamer. The one with the blue flower. Such beautiful art!
Art is supposed to be my way to relax and rest, but I find I can get pretty wound up about it! So...I'll have to work on that, too.
Blessings on you!
that must have been a really fun box to unpack and now you have some beautiful (and sentimental) treasures.
it is late and i am going to turn out my light and sleep soundly so that i can wake up in the morning and "resist the rush". i like to do that on thursdays. extra rest and slowing down feels very good.

Will you be having an English tea? Sweet of you mother to send you the china.
Do hope you will have an English tea for your friends, or at least your little grands. They would have such fun in their fairy clothes.
Hi friends! I wish you could come over and drink tea out of my mama's teacups! Tina, actually two were broken when I opened the box. I tried to fix the handle on one, but it was in too many pieces. Another teacup AND the saucer were crushed. It's okay!
I have a lot of dishes to go through this summer. I shall take things to the Goodwill on a regular basis. The lovely teacups shall stay, however!
It's raining cats and dogs here today! Yay! More water for my soon to be flower garden!
What lovely tea things. I have one of my grandma's tea cup collection and I thought that was a very neat thing to do....give them to the grands. Now I will do the same as they grow up and appreciate pretty tea cups and saucers.
Going slow....I am today. I thought I'd like to go faster than I am, but I'm plugging along.
Very pretty. How do you pick out a favorite? I hope none of them broke in the shipment. Going slow today....I'm catching up on blog reading and there is no fast way to do that. :) Blessings!!!
love the tea cups.. how fun ..
Happy Mother's Day early
