Scribbles and Doodles

The four grands are back at home.  We enjoyed them very much. Each one has little super powers and captured our love and devotion AGAIN.  Grands = good!  I am very tired because I am no longer in kid wrangling condition.  I took a three hour nap this afternoon.
When I woke up, I cleared off my art table space and moved the junk off the chair.  Doodles.
My friend Lisa who lives in Minnesota is my art buddy.  We send each other art packages.  I am so moved that she drew one of my favorite spots on Earth.  Thank you, dear Lisa.
This is one of my favorite artists.  I like her use of color and the way she gives her people pinheads.
This is where Granny sits.  Two shawls at the ready.  When I knit the butterfly wing shawl a few summers ago I had no idea that it would bring me so much comfort and warmth.  I used Lamb's Pride yarn.  I have knit many wonky things in my thirty some years of knitting, but every now and then I achieve a little greatness.

Oh, I am very ready for summer.  When I think of school, I think of all the "stuff" that lives there.  I want to flee from it and dejunk our house, too.  I believe I need just a few things, you know?  Can you think of ANYTHING we need a lot of?

I'll pop in again soon.

You are very welcome, dear Pom! That photo has been begging me to draw it for a long time!
Your drawings are DEE-lightful and cheering, as always. The wash on the line is so summery! :)
That 3 hour nap sounds wonderful and I sure do love the shawls!
I'd better get to bed myself! God bless!

Flowers! we can never have enough flowers - and bees - the world will stop without them! It is raining here and the woods are shrouded in heavy raindrops, birds are singing in shouty voices and I am enjoying this morning. Blessings to you Pompom. Betty x

Laughter, lots and lots of laughter. Give away all the STUFF except for the things that at least make you smile, I'm slowly getting rid of STUFF here, and as soon as this interminable marking will be termined, the doors are being flung wide to summer- weather regardless!

I was just over at Lisa's and saw her BEEEEE-autiful conch shell. Sigh. I love it. And now your "doodles." They are lovely too -- esp. the sheets blowing on the line. I always have a hard time coming up with an idea to draw/paint. Isn't that crazy? Objects all around me, and I can't get an idea :) I never have trouble thinking of something to write though. Each to her own! I want to paint today, Pom, and you and Lisa have inspired me :)

Yes, definitely less stuff. My room is stuffed with stuff, mostly yarn. I know you're so ready to be free and easy in your summer, doing all that your heart loves. Soon! I look forward to reading about your relaxing and joyful summer!

You always inspire me with new resources and a nudge to doodle, which I really want to do more.
Have a great summer...all teachers desire summer.
Glad your visit with your grands was grand. I had my one grand last week and just soaked it in for a day.

I am in a getting-rid-of-stuff mood, too! I'm interested to see what changes a good purge will render. I anticipate feeling lighter and freer.

We need a lot of books and quilts. Never enough of those. The rest can go.

A three hour nap sounds about right to me. We had little visitors this weekend, the first littles in a very long time. There is so much I have forgotten! Eeeep.

I love your doodles. I wish I could do that. I am in need of great purging here in my house. Less of everything, more of kisses and hugs.

a 3 hour nap...!!!!!!! I am SO envious -grin-. De-cluttering, purging, giving away, selling... it's that time of life for me.

Dear PomPom! Like everyone else I am admiring your doodles. I like your heart background too - altho the spotty shoes were fabulously fun, I found them a little too frenetic as a background. These hearts are a better backdrop for your bright and cheery blog.

Wish I could be a little more artistic. Perhaps if I practiced a bit. I do enjoy your scribbles. I will have the two little boys next week. They are easy keepers, sweet, obedient. Grandpa will take them around a bit more. I always said that it was summer that kept me going as a teacher! Enjoy your summer. Rest. Recharge.
