Pretty Red Pear

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the fall apples.  Honey Crisp are my favorite and it isn't quite time for them.  I bought one red pear instead.  One, because I wasn't sure if they are good this time of year.  They are VERY good.  Beautiful, too!

I'm almost finished with the big shift.  This project has taken me way too long.
Is all your stuff old?  Mine is.

Lisa (Pen, Ink, and Maybe Some Paint) and I have been exchanging our art for a year now.  She keeps all the stuff I send her in a notebook and I do the same.  I'll show you my notebook (the inside) sometime soon.  Now that my room is semi-sorted, I'll get busy and send a pile of stuff to Lisa.
A little pile of inspiration that hangs on the wall.
 Lisa's work.
 Beatrix in the stacks.
 Beloved Willows at the ready.
Sorry, GK.  I did not throw out all my diet books.  They are part of my history.  Not pretty, but definitely a part of me.
As you can see, there is a bit more straightening and rearranging to be done, but I've come a long way.
It's library day today, so I'll take each class down the long halls to the haven of books!

Have you noticed that leaves are starting to fall?  I bought some apple cider at the grocery store.  It tastes like a fall festival.
Time speeds by, doesn't it?  Let's dig our heels in and go slow.  Do you want to?

whut? you mean not going slow is an option?
time is the only thing that is speedy around here.
I'm slow as molasses!
love the books...where's the comfy chair to curl up in and read, read, read?

Everything is turning into green here, but no falling leaves at the moment!

I especially like time to go slowly in autumn, my favorite season.

Your work is inspiring--I need to straighten up my study and clean out the closet. What a mess! It's so nice to have things in order.

I'm reading Happy at Home by Gretchin Rubin, the sequel to The Happiness Project. It's inspiring me, too. Fall is such a good time for order and loveliness!

Thank you, thank you, for posting pics of your new creative space!! It's so lovely. I esp. love the bigger shot of the sewing machine and your table/desk. LOVE the wallpaper and border :) This looks great, Pom. I really need to have my sewing machine out and OPEN, so I will use it! And we're in week 3 of school, and Julia and I have yet to paint together - sigh. Today is the First Cool Day - yippee!!
I agree about the Honey Crisps. Best apple ever!! I can't wait until the mountain apples get shipped out here to the coast, and we can bit into a few.

Hello Pom Pom! That beautiful red pear looks marvelous with your black and white gingham background. Don't think I've ever seen a red pear but I'll keep my eye out now...

Yes, I too am eagerly looking forward to fall. No sign of it here though...it'll be several weeks, maybe a couple of months, till the leaves begin to turn here if I'm not mistaken.

Your room looks like it will be just the right thing for you. I hope you are enjoying getting it ready...that can be half the fun sometimes!

Good job fixing up the Pom Pom Room! It looks great. That pear looks yummy, and like you, I'd love some fresh apples. We're turning the apples we get into sauce and butter.

It's so much fun to see my little painting on your wall! You know what I really love? That you tape things to the wall with Scotch tape! That's something I would do! I love your cheerful, colorful space. Be filled with joy as you relax there!

Your pear looks too pretty to eat! don't think I ever had one that red. Your new room makeover looks cosy and ready for lots of creative goings on, reading of books, sharpening of pencils, old things are good, they have history and feel comforting.

What a gorgeous russet coloured pear. Glad it tasted as good as it looks. Good work on the room move too. What a cosy space you have to look forward to.

Your pear looks perfect! I bought some golden ones and then took them to art for the students to draw. They came a home a little worse for the wear. We ate them, but ..... :(

We have had a cool front come in here in Tx, but it is still plenty warm. The light is changing though, the direction and the feel of it. I want to keep up my summer slowness but our new school year won't let me.

Now that looks like a very happy room. I'd love to look through all of your books.
I'm in favor of slowing things down now. We are having a delightfully cool week with no humidity. Love it.
