Somebody Wonderful

I'm going to ask you to go through three little doors before you see my little treasure . . .

Yes, doors number one, two, and three . . .

and you shall see . . . Aria Lee! She's our new granddaughter, born April 30th! Isn't she a sweet little pea with a heap of black hair? Her daddy had the same hair do when he was born! We can't wait to see her! We have to settle for photos for now.

I am crazy about Lark Rise to Candleford. I've watched six episodes thanks to Netflix and another disk came today. Yahoo! I know many of you have read this delicious book. I am savoring it. I would like to read it aloud to myself with my fake British accent, but as you know, I do not live alone so I have to wait for some empty house moments. Smile.

Five more weeks of school and THEN I'll have more time to read the hours away. This book is a doing book. There are many intriguing exercises within.

I like to read teacher books during the summer. These two are keepers - I know this already.

I finally went outside with my camera today. Spring is doing a super duper job of decorating this year. Our neighbors have many flowery fruits, so I tromped around in their gardens, too.

My peonies are up - I usually have a glorious display by our anniversary on June 9!

Today, Sam came over and played with us. I wrapped her up in my pink, knitted shawl and cradled her for two blissful baby naps. Then, Kelli and Bryan stopped by on their way home from the mountains. Birdie and Miss Bug ran around in the backyard. I'm going to take a few days off to go up to Brad and April's so I can play with CB and Finn and hold brand new little Aria. I am one happy granny.
I had a bad cold this week and I felt wimpy at school. I went to bed early last night and now I feel great. Please don't let up on your blog postings. I like to read about what you are up to. I read all your posts. I'm SO blessed by your pictures and your nice words. You KNOW how I love nice people and I do try to gather up as many nice people into my little Pom Pom circle as I possibly can. Thanks for circling up with me.

hello Pom Pom - what a very wise looking creature Aria Lee is! and what lovely hair, she is going to turn into a beauty you can tell, it must be a great feeling to look on your grandchildren and know they are a part of you! I hope to have that experience one day...
yes, it's hard to keep blogging, I am finding it hard to talk about something every single day without getting repetitive or boring, and my family get annoyed when i am blogging and say (you're on there all the time!). Your books look interesting, I don't have time to read at the moment but have 3 weeks in Florida later in the year when I plan to read plenty.

Aria Lee is gorgeous! I LOVE her name. I'm Kerri Leigh but that's neither here nor there! She reminds me of Sam and Finn. You must be so excited!
I can't believe you'll have peonies in just a few weeks! I drove by a peony grower today and thought how sad it was that they are all dormant at the moment. I'm glad someone I know will soon be rejoicing in them!
It's so sweet how you read all our posts. I always look forward to your visits to my little place on the internet.
Hug, hug, hug x x

I am so so pleased that you are loving Lark Rise. :) Today, I am going to finish watching series 2 (I must have watched it a dozen times already) and hopefully tomorrow series 3 will be here, which I am really looking forward to watching, especially now that Im ill too, LArk Rise will definitely make me feel better.
Is'nt the book wonderful, the descriptions of every day life are just fantastic, my ideal way of life, this is my favourite book of all time. Another great book which you may like, also by Flora Thompson is Still Glides The Stream (i am re-reading it now) which is similar to Lark Rise in many ways, but this book is a novel, so it has a story to it, and it is fiction. I love it. Also, if you would like to hear Lark Rise read, amazon uk has an audio book read by the girl who plays Laura in the series, I am going to get it, it will be wonderful sitting listening to Lark Rise while crocheting. :) xxxx

Welcome to the world, beautiful little Aria Lee! What a wonderful name!! And I will definitely have to look into Lark Rise to Candleford. The PBS program comes on after my bedtime (sigh) and so I haven't ever seen it, but it does look like something I would love. I think I want to start with the book, and then treat myself to the videos later. And that second book you featured, Awaken the Creative Spirit, looks as if it is very apropos to Kerri's recent post about "art and the soul." Oh, I love the connections and crisscrossings in this blogging community!! And I want to circle around you with some especially big hugs: OOXOOX Kari

So glad to see that you're back.....
I'm squealing-with-delight over Baby Aria. What a precious baba!! (by the way, are the doors you pictured located in your gardens?)

Love, love, love all the beauty that nature is pushing forth! There's nothing like pink tree blossoms to make me smile.

I used to always read some inspirational homeschooling books during my summers too. I have one student left who will be a senior next year. Time flies.

Happy Spring, Happy Grandangel, Happy School's -Almost-Out!

it's good to hear that you are feeling better and now you can push through those last weeks of school and enjoy all that a summer vacation has to offer~!!~

it's nice to see spring has really emerged in your neighborhood. i can almost smell the tree blossoms through the screen.
we now have some daffodils and some just barely emerging green leafy bits on the trees but the last few days have been cold and windy . . . i'm dreaming of some real spring sunshine for next week . . .

I just came by to see your beautiful new grandbaby! Isn't she perfect? I love babies so much. We were at a gathering last night and a nearly 4 month old baby girl was one of the guests. I told my husband that "this is why we have so many children!" There just isn't anything in all the world more precious and beautiful!

Enjoy your photos for now. I know that soon you will be basking in the beauty of meeting her for the first time. Yay! :D

love and hugs,
Aisling

Me again- where else to turn past bedtime with a not nice day in school to look forward to and a messy house but Pom! You do make me smile! I'm here to research adult colouring-in and hobbits. And then I'll just go to bed!
