A First for Birdie

Welcome! It's so nice to have you pop by for a little hello. I hope you had a wonderful day or if you are visiting in the morning, I hope you HAVE a great day! Look at these precious photos of Birdie experiencing her first real hair cut. She loved the car she sat in and watched a movie while the stylist made her even more beautiful!

Oh yes! Miss Bug came along. She sat with Granny and waited . . .

It took a little while to plan Birdie's new "do"!

And look below! Doesn't she look like a big girl?

I've been having fun cutting, pasting, writing . . . I'm trying to figure out how to infuse school journal writing with this kind of fun!

Do any of YOU think this kind of creating is fun? I am a doodler. That's why I keep talking about Praying in Color. The art-fun mixed with the daily writing . . . it feels right.

It's hot outside. I'm thankful that it finally rained in Texas (SuKnitWitty posted a poem about rain - she's so happy!) AND I keep reminding myself that it IS still July and late August is still quite a ways away. Smile. I have a lot to read. For school: The Alchemist, The House of the Scorpion, Copper Sun, Image Grammar, Mechanically Inclined, Everyday Editing, The Hunger Games, Uglies, The Life of Pi, (books for school), The Secret Language of Girls, The Kind of Friends We Used to Be, Shooting the Moon, Chicken Boy, Dovey Coe - all by Frances O'Roark Dowell, to read for pleasure. So tomorrow will bring another stretch of luxury - me on the sofa, reading up a storm, knitting the little face cloth I'm working on, journaling and praying and loving the peace. Peace to you, too.

CB Comes to Granny's

We've been planning a little "granny overnight" for a while and today is the day! I went up to CB's house to pick her up.

First, a stop at Subway for sandwiches.

Wow! A 60% off sale at Old Navy! Better check out the bargains. We need some dresses!

Lots to look at!

Dresses = sorta fun BALL = REALLY FUN!

We arrive at Granny and Poppa's "mansion"

A quick change into the swimsuit and CB races to the pool!

The watering can in the petunia pot!

She's a gardener! I just know it!

Granny wanders over to the lilies.

The noodle becomes an elephant trunk!

CB puts on her flip flops all by herself!

WHAT a lovely little lady!

Time for some pretzels and cranberry juice while watching Little Einsteins!

A lovely nap on Granny and Poppa's bed!

Have you heard that expression, "I'm in puppy dog - heaven"? Well, I'm in Granny dog heaven! I love my grand girls! It's so fun to have little CB here for the night! While she sleeps, I blog (smile!) before dinner! Tonight promises to be a happy evening! Kelli, Birdie and Clara are coming after dinner and we'll go to the park!
Oh! I adjusted my comment button, but let me know if it isn't working for you. I also got rid of my playlist. My family was tired of it anyway and it caused some problems for my British friends. Hopefully, everything is fixed. Thank you for reading, my warm-hearted friends!
