March and Knitting

Hello friends!  I'm finally here and it's already March, the blowing month!  We began our March with snow (finally!) I was beginning to feel like I was NOT getting a winter and I really LOVE winter for the most part.  I'm praying for some good spring snows up ahead.  Kelli, Bryan and I went up to Washington to see my dear mama and we enjoyed some valley views. It's not quite tulip time yet but the gardens did have some tulips for sale.

I finished some socks for Christie, my sister in law Judy and now I am knitting a pair for Scott our son in law.  I also made a flamingo for my baby niece.

I finally finished this blue sweater and I gave it to Jenny.  I look very sleepy in the photo below. Oh, and I knit a little gray hat for a two year old we know who is undergoing cancer treatment.

I found a bunny cup and a bowl on Etsy.  When I was a child we each had a bunny cup but something happened to mine so when I saw this one and the thick bowl, I ordered it.  I have new bunny dishes, but I wanted old ones, too.  Soon (in the next few years) I should weed out many of my dishes.  Have you done that?  It's amazing how many dishes we have.
Are you doing any kind of special something for Lent?  I'm sometimes listening to an app and sometimes reading Lent writings.  Maybe I'll make some sort of countdown thing so I can eagerly anticipate Easter like I want to.
When we were at my mom's I found an old cookbook from the Josephine Sunset Home.  Many church people had contributed recipes. I found a sourdough starter recipe and I shall mix some up today.
I like going for neighborhood walks when I have some books to deposit in the Little Library up by the park, so because I have two good books to drop there, I shall go for a walk now.
Are you excited about March? Why?
I hope you are well and peaceful.

I have bunnykins crockery [birth of Liz, 1982] and Peter Rabbit Crockery [birth of Stephanie 1984] My mother said they should not be used, but ' kept safe'. I did what she said. But when first grandchild was 3 [now 10] I got them out and we use them - when the children are here, but in between times too, for us! One plate has a slight chip and one bowl cracked and broke, but we still have plenty to use. Yours are the bunnykins ones I notice.

You are an amazing knitter!! All the things you knit look so nice ( and that flamingo is just cute!!)
I have downsized many things these past years but I'm not keen on getting rid of any dishes. You know that I am fond of them.
Beautiful tulips that you bought. Hopefully soon there will be some in the garden.
Take care, dear friend 💗

I AM excited for March and spring and planting things. It was a hard winter this year, inside me and in weather. Glad for respite. Your socks are cute! And that flamingo!!! LOVE the knots for knees :) Nice knitting! We had a big snowstorm/winter event, and now our temps are warm and gorgeous. I went to the garden store yesterday and bought pots and plants.

I have a Bunnykins cup with two handles. You're socks are fantastic and you so suited your blue jumper. Why did you give it away. I'm looking forward to next week when my youngest son and grandson share a birthday.Hope all's well with all your precious people.xxx

The socks are grand, but I am in love with the sweater. Those colors are great. It looks good on you. The cups are fun. We are getting a little snow here also. I would rather have flowers. Oh well, no control over that.

We've been on a trip since the beginning of March and are flying home tomorrow, on my birthday. Yes, I am enjoying March especially since it is my and my granddaughter's birthday month. Lots of celebrating going on. Love the socks and all the other lovelies you have created. Cheers from Cambridge England!

Happy March! So nice you got to visit Washington, even if the tulips weren't quite out. Your knitting projects are amazing, the flamingo is just adorable! Love the socks too! You look lovely in the sweater photo! Exciting to hear you made some sourdough starter! I think you will love working with it :) We got some snow here today and I am happy about it! We didn't have much of a winter either, and I love winter. Blessings to you!
