Here's our first harvest! Yay!
The pumpkins are overly plentiful! They really will take over if I don't lift them off the grass (they cling with their little tentacles).
Peaches and tea = yum
Kelli went to California and they jet skiied miles and miles and miles. She said it was very scary and the next day they could hardly walk. How brave. No thank you.
We were up in the mountains visiting some friends and we saw Bigfoot. Yeah, he was nice and friendly.
It's almost September and I'm putting all the things on the calendar. Two Bible studies, my Well Read Mom group, and lots of space and margins for happy visits with family and friends. I've been writing and knitting, drawing and painting, cooking and baking and walking (a little). I've been doing a lot of reading, too. There are so many nice things to do, don't you think so?
We've had a break in the heat which is so lovely. I really do not like being hot. I can't wait for fall. I'm not as crazy about fall decor as I am about Christmas decor, but I can't wait to harvest my pumpkins! They will be the stars of the fall!
Do you feel like you have enough to do? Too much? Are you getting enough sleep?

Bigfoot looks pretty scary to me!
We got some really nice tomatoes out of our little garden. So nice to eat home grown things. Yes, so many fun things to do. I could always use longer days. :) Yes, I get a good amount of sleep for me, 7 hours. Don't get excited about the changes of seasons. They all go by much too fast for me. :)
I love fall when the weather start getting that crisp little bit of nip in the air. One of my favorite things that I look forward to is visiting the orchards and getting apples.
I would love to try a waverunner but in a small lake, not in the ocean. I still remember the movie "Jaws".
Your title caught my attention. It has cooled off here also. Fall is also my favorite season. It sounds like your September is planned out. I'm still in shock that August is over.
You reminded me to put my September things on my calendar. Thank you. I'm not a heat person except for in my Mexican food. I put ladies prayer group and Women's Bible Study on my September calendar. We also have a trip across the mountains and an Irish Feis in Spokane to attend. Your pumpkins patch is fun. I do enjoy Fall!!
Its lovely to see Tim again dear Pom Pom. I don't like the heat at all - or the cold. I much prefer the "in between seasons", spring & autumn are my faves. Your peaches look so delicious. xx
Haha -- I haven't felt any *excitement* about the change of the season... I *am* loving the present moment, while trying to stay calm, and not to be anxious or frantic about all the garden things I need to do in the next month or two. So fall = work ! But it's wonderful to be outdoors as much as possible, and I'm thankful I can do some of the work myself. It does seem that the weather is more conducive to it now; it may be that we won't be having any more temps higher than the mid-80's - ? Though I wouldn't mind.
I'm excited with you about your pumpkins, PomPom! You are smart to keep checking those tendrils, and I hope you are noting also the roots that often try to grow down into the soil from the stems. They can anchor the pumpkin such that if you do try to lift it the stem might break, which happened to the biggest pumpkin we ever grew -- before it was ripe :-(
Your pumpkins are doing so well. I don't get enough sunshine to grow them. I wish I did. What will you do with your zucchini? My guys used to love Zucchini Chocolate Cake.
I love Fall and Fall decorating.
Hugs to Tim. 🐱🐱🐱
The peaches look good.
Autumn/Fall is one of my favourite seasons, and it's almost here!
All the best Jan
