Hello! Long time no blog! I hope you are all doing well. I hope you are not melting in the summer heat (if you are up here on this side of the equator!) I am melting a little. But as you can see in the photo above, I'm still knitting cozy things.
Miss Bug went to Spain to be a part of a mission trip. We were so happy when she got home. Do you like the hat I made her?
I made a quiche (a crustless one) because my mom was talking about a Costco quiche. It was very pretty! I didn't follow a recipe but I think the key ingredient is cottage cheese. It was tasty!
I'm trying to keep the flowers I planted well hydrated! Bill has been helping me water. I DO have five pumpkin patches (well, I planted two pumpkin seeds in the front garden so that isn't really a whole patch). They are growing! The leaves are huge! I shall be a happy pumpkin farmer when there are pumpkins in August!
Now we have two married granddaughters! CB's wedding last November was beautiful and Birdie's wedding was beautiful as well! Do you like my fascinator? Isn't Kelli's dress gorgeous! She was golden!
I woke up this morning thinking about how I can best happily navigate the heat of summer. I could go to the pool, but I feel shy about that for some reason. I went for a short walk today to the Little Library on the path by the park and that wasn't unbearable, so I need to go early. I've been eating watermelon and hot dogs. I aim to sit outside on the patio a bit more, soaking in the sight of the green grass and the growing pumpkin patches.
Soon Kelli and I are heading up to see my sweet mama. I am so thankful when one of the kids goes with me. Jenny has been several times, too. Brad went and I hope to take Jeff (or Christie!) soon.
It will be fun to see my homeland!
I'm hoping you are feeling light hearted and buoyant today! Are you doing anything exciting over the summer (or winter)? Are you reading something interesting?
God be with you, faithful friend.

How nice to read a post from you.
Our weather has been quite pleasant here in western Md. We've had a good mix of sun and rain. Doesn't get all that hot here.
I'm reading Land of Silence by Tessa Afshar. She takes characters from the Bible that we don't know much about and imagines how they might have been. This one is about the woman with the blood issue who touches the hem of Jesus' robe and is cured.
My husband would love to have 5 pumpkin patches. I have never made quiche. I have eaten it. I am glad you have such good times with your family. Safe travels.
I can't believe Birdie is married...how long have I been your blogfriend? She was just a little girl when we first met online...God bless them all !🙏❤️😃
What a nice post. Its nice to see all of your summer things in one place.
I liked reading all about your summer doings. It's so nice to have family around and enjoying their company. It's very hot here and I'm wishing for cooler temps. I hope when you come out it's not so scorching.
We both like crustless quiches and yours looks super tasty. I see their are many recipes for crustless quiche with cottage cheese so I'll choose one and hope for the best.
Be sure to show us your pumpkins when they're ready🧡🧡🧡🧡
So nice to see a post from you, Pom Pom.
I love the colors in your knitting project. Perhaps because they remind me of autumn colors. Very hot (and getting hotter) here which makes me yearn for fall. However, like you, I am looking for ways to stay present in the summer season without melting. Right now it's mostly been reading (True Colors by Kristin Hannah), doing jigsaw puzzles and decluttering my office after retiring last month.
Sounds like you have a lot of fun times planned with family and travel. Enjoy it all.
Lovely to see you today! Your fascinator is very elegant.
Hello dear Pom Pom. Good to see you here. Congrats on your granddaughter's wedding. Early is good in the summer for any kind of exercise. I'm reading a book by John Piper called God is the Gospel. Take care!
Here in Michigan, temps took a dramatic dive last night. I hope you get that too. Those granddaughters are just lovely! Thanks for stopping by -- looks like you are enjoying a lovely summer.
Your crustless quiche looks and sounds delicious.
The flowers you planted look lovely, so colourful.
Enjoy your summer.
All the best Jan
Good morning, PomPom! Well, the most excitement we've had is that we are up in WVa for this past week, helping to care for my mother who is now bed-bound. Otherwise, she is in good shape, just can't walk. I hope your time with your mama will be very sweet! 4 generations of women in your family! How in the world can your little granddaughters be old enough to be married? We've been blogging a long time, haven't we?
Right now I'm reading another Josephine Tey mystery novel, Brat Farrar.
Thats a lovely pic of you and daughter. How lovely to read of two weddings and Miss Bug's trip to Spain - that's a long way for a young girl, glad she's home safe. Spain is very near to us and we like it there. I like swimming - don't give it up! it's such a nice way to keep ourselves fit without weight bearing and mentally I always feel very refreshed after. I had some stroke improvement classes so splash less and move faster now! I have pumpkins too - on my allotment plot near home - they are flowering at the moment. After weeks of this heatwave in the UK, we have rain! I am so pleased - so is my garden, and my cat! cool fresh rain, thank you heavens for opening! Betty x
It is always fun to see a post from you. I love hearing about your children and grandchildren and their sweet names. That's beautiful picture of you and your daughter. Your flowers are so pretty, and I bet your pumpkin patches are too. :)
I'm finding the best way to cope with the heat is to find a shady spot and sit, enjoying the warmth and the buzzing insects. Maybe read, maybe doze, drink lots of water. And maybe have a walk early morning. You have had some joyful days - bask in the happy thoughts!
The balloon hat is adorable! Great for a birthday too. Stay cool
Hello Pom Pom! Just popping in to say "hi" this Sunday afternoon. Your flowers are so cheery and I loved the wedding pic with you and Kelly. Can it really be that two of your little grandgirls are married? Oh my! Life flies by so fast. Happy Summer. God bless. ~Jody (aka: GumboLily)
