Sweet Faces and Gardening

Hello spring chickens!  Birdie and Miss Bug invited me to the special persons tea on their last day of the home school extension program (for the year).  Aw!  It was fun to sit with them, drink tea, and visit with another granny at our table.  The director explained that we were to make sure we did NOT use more than one cup and that we just take two cookies, no more.  It kind of cracked me up and reminded me of one of the things I found difficult when I taught middle school.  I did NOT like explaining things over and over and over.  After sitting through two teas I will never waste a paper cup again.  Lol.
Today was Plum Cake day.  We shopped for swimsuits.  She picked out a one piece with lots of hearts printed on it.  She insisted on wearing it for the rest of the day.  The sun was shining so it was a good choice!
She met up with another three year old girl at the park (and a brother) and while they roared around and played I talked to the sweet mama.  She was such a smiley face mother.  I like that kind, don't you?
We planted two coleus and some pansies in the shady spot outside.  I did a lot of planting yesterday and my body is achey and sore.  Wimp!  Oh well.  Maybe tomorrow I will feel like Superwoman.  As you see I have a lot more planting to do.  And there are all those seeds I showed you. . .
Plum likes to wash dishes.  She insisted I move my deck chair right beside her in order to protect her from bugs.  Ha!
I am planting a HUGE number of marigolds this year!  I love the kind that look like this.

I have more to say but I'll say it next time.  Thank you for popping in, flower face.

I do like marigolds. I understand they are fairly easy to grow and maintain. Might be an idea for my flower pots. Cute photos of Plum!

I've planted the same color of marigolds, and my petunias are called watercolor mix, which probably influenced my decision to purchase them, lol. Actually, I can never decide which color I like best, so a mixture of colors is my cop out. :)
Grandgirls are so much fun!

One cup and two cookies. Glad you listened! That is too funny about insisting on wearing the bathing suit all day! You would have to give me a large cash sum to even get into a bathing suit these days! Have a great evening and Friday!

I guess it's pretty obvious that I like Marigolds. That's one of the reasons my granddaughter gave me that nickname years ago. Last night we had a much needed rain but many of my flowers are now flattened. I hope they will lift themselves up again.
I also find that after a day of gardening I feel stiff and achy. Can't do much about it. Grin and bear it.

Well Plum Cake is adorable and I love that new swim suit! I like Marigolds too. I usually plant a few in the garden between the tomato plants.

Marigolds are popular for keeping insects away, I have never grown them yours are cheery. I notice you like yellows and oranges in your colour schemes. What could be more fun that shopping for swimwear with a three year old - I hope you got yourself something too for the paddling pool!

How nice to be invited to the special tea and I'm pleased to hear that you followed the rules :).
If I looked as cute as Plum does in her swimsuit, I would want to wear it all day too. Precious pics you captured of your day together. I love her haircut. It suits her to a tee.
I like your choice in marigolds. I think they look nice in summer and fall. I usually plant them in my veggie garden and by the end of the summer they have all but disappeared. I can't figure out what happens.

My two chickadees are absolutely exhausted today after another week of very early mornings while their Mummy has to go to work. I wish I could change that situation for them all.Hopefully the weekend brings some respite. Loving your pics. X

What a fun post. Don't you just love doing things with them

The swim suit is a hit and she will enjoy that all summer long.

Your flats of flowers look like the ones I have to plant tomorrow. I am so sore the next day I can hardly get around. I just can't resist buying plants - shame on me.

Have a fun weekend.

Do I sound like a broken record? Always agreeing with what you say?!!! I've thrown in a ton of marigold seeds too and I love those kind because I had them as a child and have good memories. I'm eagerly watching for the seeds to come up. I always save my seeds for the next year. Little Plum Cake is too cute!!!!
