Flowers and Dresses

What am I doing that prevents me from knitting more?  I have no idea.  I may be doing a little too much viewing.  I watched the entire season 5 of Stella (a woman who lives in a fictitious village in Wales), so I guess I could have been knitting then (I was watching on my iPad and that's too much multitasking!)
I'm drawn to blue lately.  I was so happy that Heather at Blackberry Rambles could custom make me a blue rose.  I've worn it a lot!
We're feeling so flowery.  Samantha Rose wants Grampy to baptize her in the back yard so tomorrow we'll have a house and garden full of family for the baptism and lunch.  FUN!  I thought of dear little Sam as I festooned the entry way with flowers and tulle.

Here's the Gudrun dress.  It's like a tent, but it's pretty!  I'll try it on when I figure out what to wear with it.  It's cold in the Northwest where the family wedding will be (outside on lovely Guemus Island).
Granny Marigold has this tea cup, too!  Tea tastes extra good in fine cups, don't you think so?
So, because the wedding is on the beach I am going to wear these blue sensible shoes.  I have had miserable shoe wearing mishaps at previous weddings.  I hate grown up lady shoes.
I took this photo to show my sister my funny Dottie Angel dress.  Remember I didn't take the tucks in the front because I didn't want to emphasize that particular area?  Yes, well it is sort of sacklike, but that's okay.  I COULD wear the toadstool clogs to the wedding.  That might step it up a bit. Welcome to our little bathroom, by the way.  Sorry for the unsightly bathroom tissue!  Ha!
Okay, jasmine tea this time.  Same cup.
The Birkenstocks are the most comfy shoe.  I know they look a big rough.
Young people give me complements on my pink Fitbit.  I WAS counting calories on the app but that soon became suffocating.  I found that I eat about the same amount every day anyway.  I've also noticed that I am so hungry all morning and then in the afternoon, not so much.  I wonder why that is.
This photo is for Kim at My Field of Dreams because she thinks Minions are funny.  Plum thinks they are HILARIOUS!
She picked out this cute hippie skirt.
She figured out it IS worth it to trade the gift book in the kids meal for an ICE CREAM cone.  Smart!
Plum Cake fell in love with a library book and when Jenny looked to see if she could buy a copy she realized that it was out of print and a used copy was priced at $50.00.  YIKES!  I found it on Alibris for .99!  Tillie Lays an Egg is a VERY good book.  Plum Cake said, "You mean I get to keep it FOREVER?"  So cute!
 Our neighbor's iris are gorgeous!
The leaves are covering the trees again and I am SO glad to see them back!

A snowball tree on my walk!

And some peachy colored iris.  We dug up our iris because they were getting so invasive, but I like looking at the neighborhood iris.
 Green grass everywhere!

And the peonies are getting ready to bloom!  I adore peony season!

And here is the glorious allium that my neighbor has been adding to every year.  Stunning.
I have cleaning to do.  When I look around our house I see that we also have painting to do.  I always notice the chips when we are having company soon.  I wish the cleaning fairies would stop by and scoot me out the door so they could work a miracle or two, leaving the house sparkling.  I really wish the cleaning mood came upon me a bit more often.
I'll take photos of Sam's baptism and I'll share my Rule of Life in the next post.  Promise.
Thank you for reading, nice visitor.

I need to get the paintbrushes out too for impending visitors but am so not bothered. I love your shoe choices. My neighbour across the way is complaining about the huge silver birch tree in my garden. She wants to pay for its removal. I'm being constantly irritated by other folks this weather.Your hallway looks lovely festooned with the flowers in chiffon.have fun.xx

Oh boy, I'd love some cleaning fairies, too. I like the fabric on the dress you are wearing to the wedding. Looks like Spring is exploding at your place. Lots of pretty flowers. I'll have to check out Stella. Good for you for finding that book at such a bargain. I'll have to bookmark that sight...
Happy weekend to you!

Oh, my, Pom Pom, you have loaded me up with beautiful flowers and grandchildren, beautiful dresses and shoes and knitting yarn. The glimpses of your world are always worth seeing.

Oh, Pom Pom-- your posts make me smile! The beautiful photos, the cute dresses, I need some birks -- yes, your blog is a great getaway!

You pack so much into a blog post!!! First.... I love the selfie you took while standing on the toilet. It made me grin, I looked to see if our library had by any chance any STELLA series but they don't. Too bad. How wonderful that Samantha Rose is going to be baptized in your back yard. Blessings on her.
Imagine you remembering that I had that RA Blossomtime tea cup. You have a good memory.
And last but not least...I hate grown-up lady's shoes too. Uncomfortable. I don't know why I don't get rid of all my old high heels. If I wore them now I'd probably twist my ankle.

Thanks for showing us your dresses! Loved the toilet shot!
Isn't it crazy how books can be so expensive at one place and so cheap at another? Gotta know where to buy! Glad she's so thrilled with it. :)
That teacup is so pretty!
I wish I did more knitting, too. Maybe I would learn to make something really awesome if I worked at it a bit. Too many interests; too little time!
Thanks for a lovely visit! It's nice to see summer arriving finally!

Such a fun post! I agree with you, a nice china tea cup makes tea taste all the better. Yours is quite beautiful.
I think your dress and shoes are perfect for a beach wedding, nice choice.
You are going to have some gorgeous peonies, and the allium in your neighbors yard is amazing! I love allium and you hardly ever see it around.

Have an extra beautiful weekend, especially tomorrow at that special baptism. What a praise to God!

Blessings~

Oh, you crack me up!! Standing on the toilet to take a photo of your cute dress. You are adorable! I like the new dress for the wedding too, and the shoes. What kind of shoes are those? I have a pair of Skechers Go Walk that look similar (tho not flowery) that I LOVE to wear.

A baptism will be awesome! God bless you, one and all and especially Samantha Rose. Grampy must be so thrilled to be baptizing his grandies. So neat.

Love the flower pics. I have allium and I always think of the book, Horton Hears a Who when I see them. They are so beautiful. My chive plants look like mini allium.

How lovely to be baptisted by your grandfather, very special. Hope you have a wonderful sunny day for the event (and a paddling pool?). I am looking forward a lot to your next post for the Rule of Life. we have a bank holiday weekend so no post service until Tuesday so I may as well keep writing my letter and adding bits! I'm at work today but the flower market is open and that makes it well worth getting in early. Betty x

Yay for Sam...wonderful, special day! Shoes are for support and comfort, extra nice when they are pretty as well. Usually I wear boots for work but they are heavy and wear me slam out. Stella is new to me and have been looking for another dvd series...Wales is on my visit list.

What a fun post! Loved seeing your dresses and the bathroom pose is a keepe!

The tulle and flowers are so festive, and the baptism and party after will be memorable for all. Wish I could join you.

Let's have a cup of tea together right now! Out of your China cups and saucers, of course.

HaHaHa... I like the way you take selfies. The dress looks very comfy and ideal for a beach wedding. Sensible shoes are a must for me too. Yours are sensible, yet cute. A winning combination.
After seeing your tea cup, I went to check my collection as it looked familiar. If it is "Blossom Time" by Royal Albert, then I join you and Granny Marigold on owning one. Mine came from my mother-in-law. Would you believe I've never drank tea from it. Better remedy that soon.
How special to be having a baptism in your backyard. The decorations look very pretty and so do your flowers (and your neighbors).

Always uplifting to visit you. : )
I agree, tea always tastes better in a fine china cup!
My hungry time is in the afternoon about 3:00.

Dear Pom Pom I do enjoy visiting you and finding out the latest news.
Love the blue Gudrun dress, I've been thinking about getting that one too but the combination of colours on the website has me backing off quickly!
Lovely flowers & stories about grands, a tea cup or two and you standing on the loo.
Fab post!

What a fun post, I almost feel as if I'd sat down for a cup of tea with you, and caught up on life together :) You will have a wonderful time at the wedding with comfy shoes, that is most important!!! I loved how you hung the flowers upside down on the banisters, beautiful! Hope you had a very special day with your precious granddaughter getting baptized! :)

How precious to have a grandpa who is a pastor to baptize you! She will always remember that. I love your fashion choices, Pom. Those shoes are GREAT. But I laughed out loud when I saw you STANDING ON THE TOILET while you apologize for the toilet paper - haha! The flowers are all lovely, and summer is certainly here. I meant to say -- about a previous post -- that coloring book about the yard is just adorable!! I giggled when I saw the page with the yarn growing in the yarn garden in rows. Oh my! I would be a serious gardener then!!!
