Washington Glow

I'm back from my Washington adventure.  My mom grew these incredible lilies and picked some to decorate her house!

I've never seen such gigantic lilies!
The flowers everywhere seemed super size/super pretty!
The woodsy wedding glowed with forest sparkles.
My sister welcomed a new son in law.  I really like him.
Their garden decorated the wedding, too!
I love this girl.  She bought her dress used at a place that helps women. She wore my veil (that's the fifth time it's been worn by a family bride).
We had a little girl time, my sisters and my mama, and I.  My mother was walking around visiting with people, of course!
We had long ferry waits, but the next day we drove to Guemes Island.

 My brother crabbed for us!

The next day my mom and I had dinner with my other brother and his wife. She is the queen of hydrangeas!

 They grilled oysters.

My mom and I visited the local yarn store.  FUN!

My purchases.  I want to make a Scandinavian looking shawl.
This is my mom's forest, her deck view.  The weather was sunny and bright for my entire visit.  I'm thankful for a time away to see my mama and my sibs, so thankful.  I'm happy to be home again.  The squash grew to enormous sizes.  Yikes!  The flowerbeds could use a little weeding.  A bucket of warm soapy water is much needed around this house.  Tim followed Bill around like a puppy and is giving me the cold shoulder.  How dare I leave him for an entire week!
Thank you for stopping in and viewing my trip photos.  Only nice people do that.
God be with you!

The wedding and its setting look beautiful and all those smiling faces. And then the island trip and grilled oysters, now that was a good way to spend some time.

I love all the pictures. Your Mom sure grows beautiful flowers!! The wedding pics are sweet.
I don't know what a Scandinavian shawl looks like but I have no doubt it will be lovely!

Your mama's trees are deep and lovely. What a pretty wedding spot! It seems you often go up for weddings. You must have a generation just the right age for that. The flowers are just stunning -- and in pots, no less! I hope Timothy warms to you again; I know he will.

Wow those lilies are beautiful. I planted some giant lilies last fall and I hope they will bloom soon.
All the flowers are so beautiful. What a great tradition for the brides to wear your veil. The bride is lovely.

Timothy will soon forgive you. He's telling you that he does not appreciate it when you leave.
He had his feelings hurt.

Oh my, those crabs and oysters look delicious. My mouth is watering. I love, love seafood.
Hugs, Julia

What a fun, fun time you had! All that lovely sea food and pretty flowers and smiling people. Awesome! Love the lilies. I grow them too and they are so impressive. I have pink, burgundy, yellow, and white. They are very prolific. Glad you had such good times with your Mama and siblings. Cherished moments.

What a fabulous trip. And how much yarn did you bring home? In the photo with your mom and your sister, I was wondering which lovely face was the mom? You are all beautiful.

What a beautiful flower filled post dear Pom Pom. Everything looks wonderful & a great trip by the look of things. Yes my furry ones often give me the cold shoulder when I have been away too. Timothy will thaw out soon. I love that your veil has been used 5 times & that your niece wore a thrifted dress. Just perfect. We have had a -4 degrees frost this morning & my keyboard keys do not wish to type !!!

What a handsome gathering at the wedding and the bride was indeed beautiful. You and your sisters are beautiful too and so are your little noses! My sisters and I have 'Durante' noses, inherited from our Father but thankfully not passed on to any of our children/grandchildren. Don't think they'd ever forgive me for that! Been looking forward to this post and you didn't disappoint. I love your yarn too. 'Herriot' is a very Scottish name. Sir Walter Scott lived not far from the place called 'Heriot' which is another way to spell the same name and that's not very far from where I am. Thank you for sharing your bountiful post with us, dearest Pom.xxx

I love the idea of wearing your veil, it's becoming a family tradition! and to choose a pre-loved dress is also wonderful, sensible and methinks this lady will be wise with money. Blessings to the wedded couple. Your family home is a beautiful place/area. Bettyx
