I FINALLY (after blogging forever and reading ABOUT Ginny's Yarn Along) figured out how amazing Ginny is and how fun it is to Yarn Along with others. You share your current read and your current knitting. Look how itty bitty my beginning is. Hmmmm. I'm having to look up techniques again which is how we grow. I know this. Kelli gave me this VERY COOL and very beyond me shawl book and the cushy alpaca, too. I had a crazy time winding the first ball (I don't have a swift) and I had to keep telling myself, "You're patient. You can endure. You won't get it all tangled like you have done so many times before." For the next skein I shall enlist a granddaughter's hands and promise her a long back tickle/massage in return.
The book Journaling as a Spiritual Practice is a delightful surprise. I added it to my cart when I was ordering a few meaningful books from my past (Christianbook.com). Now I had to order the Journaling Bible (NKJV) as well and it should come today. I have piles of books on the go right now. It's a little much. More on all this knitting/bookishness later.
Thank God for the sunflower display. The wild ones and the Mammoths. And thank God for the morning glories, even though they hug everything. They are indeed glorious.
Long ago when I began the hollyhocks I didn't know they'd keep coming. I'm so happy they do. They are so cottage-y and hearty. Bless them.
Bill's in Australia and I fear our sprinkler system isn't working right so I have to Google how to fiddle with the control box today. Another scary thing in our little patch is the abundance of bunnies. Usually, I don't mind them but when I saw this little darling back by the tubes and wires I began to suspect some chewing. Drat!
The other day Samantha and Plum Cake picked and picked marigolds and made a big pile in the grass. I encourage children to pick flowers (and beans!) around here. It's so satisfying.
I hope you go over to Ginny's even if you don't knit. I know Gill does the Yarn Along and I think Heather from Blackberry Rambles does Words and Wool (is that the same?) Ginny has lots of sponsors and is one of those higher profile blogs. I love her photos and her words.
