Maybe you can cover the cables? We don't have problems like this with bunnies where we live, but rats last winter chewed through my shed floor and the everything stored inside - your post has prompted me to go and check the electric flexes on our karcher and other electric products we keep out there as I had never though to! In the past I have knitted mittens and socks, touque, sweaters and scarves when the kids were young.
