We are having both turkey and ham at our church Thanksgiving dinner.

Right now I'm reading "A Mapmaker's Dream," and am enjoying it thoroughly. It was written in the 1500s by a monk in a monastery in Venice who was attempting to draw a map of the known world without leaving his cell, but relying on stories brought back to him by fascinating travelers. The book is more his attempt to grapple with the theological and philosophical conundrums presented by all this information reaching his door. I've enjoyed it very much.M.K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09205619221345704689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6918710928117815584.post-78389931459417881482013-11-26T04:28:32.758-08:002013-11-26T04:28:32.758-08:00There is a sign like that in my 5th grader's c...There is a sign like that in my 5th grader's classroom. We brined the turkey for the first time last year and for some odd reason I remember NOTHING about it my husband tells me we thought it was the best ever. Okay then. We are gonna do it again and this time I better remember it. Next year we'll probably hit the road again and see family, but this year we'll lounge. I like lounging. And eating dinner slowly.

xofrancesLeft-Handed Housewifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15014518128739580267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6918710928117815584.post-18029311735767682272013-11-25T16:07:48.196-08:002013-11-25T16:07:48.196-08:00I am in total agreement...eat food slowly! I'm actually a wee bit disappointed that you haven't. Yet! I'm reading The Fall of Troy, still. It's at a very doomed part. Earthquakes and deaths and temper. Building up to some disaster. I am reading an Amish book right now, which I talked a bit about on in my latest blog post. I call Amish books "comfort reading." Hope you have the best Thanksgiving ever. It is turkey all the way for us - my husband always buys the biggest bird in the store so we have lots of left overs. He loves turkey sandwiches!
