Do you have a sewing nook where you can leave all your crafty things out? I don't, and I think that's part of the reason I don't sew more -- the getting it all out, the mess, and the putting it all up again -- blah! Do you have that problem too? So anyhoo, I think I'm going to make myself a little crafty nook where I can sew and draw and paint and things -- the only problem is what to do with all the 'stuff' that's currently living in my dream 'studio'? Yesterday, I bought a rotary cutter and cutting mat in preparation for beginning the quilt I've been wanting to make for a couple of years now. Wonder how long it will take me to get to the next step ;)? I bet you'll have 12 aprons finished by the time I start my little (big) project?
Hearts,
GGGigihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14709314864693421679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6918710928117815584.post-86306677567929867582011-05-12T09:36:37.984-07:002011-05-12T09:36:37.984-07:00Pom Pom, this is a lovely idea! Years ago, when my girls were little, I made 3 aprons: one for me, a little one for Anna, and a tiny one for Julia. They still have them. I designed them myself, with a large ruffle at the bottom of the full-length skirt, one side pocket, and a bib. Mine now has a large hole. We've worn and worn them.

I don't know how many granddaughters you have, but maybe you should consider making them aprons, and one for yourself, to match. Go shopping at a fun fabric store, and choose a fabric that matches each one's personality. They will treasure them, I promise!M.K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09205619221345704689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6918710928117815584.post-14414638816541218742011-05-10T16:16:22.681-07:002011-05-10T16:16:22.681-07:00Oh my goodness, well I'm not good with words a...Oh my goodness, well I'm not good with words at all, but I've enjoyed all these comments with uplifting quotes. ^_^Sheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11036947306050355387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6918710928117815584.post-75773805097744629302011-05-10T15:41:54.425-07:002011-05-10T15:41:54.425-07:00A little story from my memory to motivate you to s...A little story from my memory to motivate you to sew your apron..... The kids were coming home for a holiday (Mother's Day, I think) and Grace told me she wanted a picture of her mom in her apron. She had told a friend that her mom wore aprons a lot and her friend thought that was so wonderful and wanted to see. Of course, when Grace walked in the door, I was busy preparing the family meal in my apron. Click! Photo memory. And click, precious heart memory for me.

Depending on the style of apron you choose, you could easily have it whipped up in half an hour to one hour! Yes! You!
