Blossoms and Paws

It's getting closer to lovely Easter!  The blossoms are lovely and I heard on the news today that people are hanging around Washington, DC because the blossoms are so gorgeous!  Woo hoo!

Mr. Cuddle Bug is not too impressed with the cool temps that have been interspersed with the warm weather.  Lap cat.  I'm working on a cotton linen tank in purple.  You've seen it before. A little attention to THIS project and then THAT project . . .

You know you are a cat lover when you are obsessed with the cuteness of PAWS.

This is a fun sock pattern!

We've been dog sitting Jenny's pom,  Thumbelina.  She's old and jumpy, but she goes right into her carrier at night so we can sleep without worries that she is using the wood floors for her bathroom.  Tim is NOT a fan.

Grampy found "green means go" popsicles!

James LOVES to clean.  I pulled this old mop out of the trash can so he could do his work.
Jenny's family is at Disneyland!  They are having a ball!  It's very crowded but the weather is nice and the girls are smiling!

Plum Cake's favorite!  She was thrilled!
Yesterday afternoon Clara and I drew Easter dresses.  I might draw more.  Yes, I know.  I have the skills of a fashion designer.  Thank you.

Have you drawn any Easter dresses?

My Bible study ladies are making prayer beads.  I'm going to use mine (I'm going to make a stretchy bracelet since I already have the beads below) with breath prayers.  Here's a link to the practice of breath prayers.  Personally, I wouldn't use "higher power" because I say "Father God" and "Jesus" and "Holy Spirit" but you get the idea.

I'm off to do my little part time job (for Bill's ministry) but I hope you are having a cheery week.  I bet the birds are chirping for you.
Love love love!

Light and Pretty

I decided it would be a good idea to finish one of my works in progress.  Cozy socks.  I learned a lot from following the directions.  Details associated with sock knitting began to make sense.  Our brains are miraculous that way. The alpaca vest below doesn't really fit right.  It's too short so I am making a cabled band to lengthen it.  Vests don't really flatter my robust torso, but I can hope that my girth will decrease over time, can't I?

The blossoms are out and we're hoping the rain/snow that is expected won't ruin the lacy beauty.  I planted sweet peas today and the wind was blowing furiously.  God bless the sweet pea seeds.

Bunches of daffodils were on sale at the grocery store.  They glow with sunshine.  Little trumpets.

I have not forgotten about drawing Easter dresses.  I'm going to do it right now.
You draw some, too.

Chatter

I found the bunny ears I bought for myself last spring and I've been trying them on different grands.

Our Jenny took her family to the alpaca show in Denver this weekend.  It was free and she loves animals.

I didn't go but I received a treat!  Warm alpaca socks coming right up in a few months!

Meanwhile I keep working on the big Stephen West design.  It is fun and exciting, but it takes up a lot of space on my lap.  Somebody else does, too!

Here is Plum's Super Girl.  I think she exercises regularly, don't you?
The views out the (dirty) windows are glorious this time of year.  We have the kind of windows you can take out of the frames and wash, but have I washed them?  No.  I fear getting them back in but they are so dirty that I can hardly stand it.  One day I will risk it and make them shine.  One day.

 I've been knitting outside.
My leg is actually fatter than it appears in this photo, but it IS pretty amazing that it is MARCH and the temps are so warm.  Thankful.
Oh!  Here's the knitting mascot again!

Oh, and even a little MORE comfy.
Plum comes to visit on Thursdays.  She enjoyed a junk food lunch out on the beat up picnic table.

Tim is a super napper.  We have not trained him to run and jump and carry out crazy capers.  He follows our lead.  Yes, I guess we're lazy nappers!

Here I am after walking down to church this morning.  Bill and I have been enjoying the church at the bottom of the hill.  Anyway, during church my sister was messaging me, asking about a dress she just bought and was wearing to church.  Is it too artsy/smock-like? she asked.   I told her I liked it (it is very cute and looked so pretty on her) and that I was wearing a denim dress-ish thing, too. I told her I'd send her a photo so I'm sharing it with you. Sisters think alike.  Sorry for my squinty eyes and reluctant smile.  The sweater I have on is very old.  I ordered it from LLBean a long time ago.  One of my eighth grade students LOVED it and wanted one for herself which I thought was funny since it seemed kind of like a bright granny thing to me.  It has crabs and lobsters printed on its pinkness.  That's why I like it even though it's a bit too small.
I'm wearing one of Heather's posies as is my custom!

I have a very ordinary week planned.  I always have plenty to do since I dabble in a little bit of everything.  I've been reading a chronological version of the Bible.  I try to stay a day or two ahead.  The Holy Spirit is shedding new light on the old stories and I'm very grateful.  Remember my Rule of Life?  As I get older, I don't want to be weighed down by so many irrelevant possessions.  Do you think your possessions weigh you down?  If I aim to fear God and know Him intimately, what am I doing with a bunch of books that don't point me in His direction?  I'm thinking on this because I have too many books.
I am not motivated to purge our house so that it will look nicer or cleaner.  I am motivated to remove distractions.  I have a lot of distractions.

Thank you for popping in to say hello.

March Stuff

Noah is growing like a weed.  Isn't he handsome?  Six months old!
The sky is pretty in the morning and when I grab the camera I realize again that the pink changes in the blink of an eye.  It'll be a few months before there are leaves on the trees.  Sigh.
Last Tuesday I made cinnamon rolls.  I tried to roll them up very tight like my grandmother used to do.  I doused them with frosting and nobody complained about their sugary flavor.  How do you like your cinnamon rolls?  Big and doughy or tight and sticky?
And it's Easter candy season and will be for weeks to come.
We have our resident Easter bunny.  Aw!
I walked to Bible study last week (huff puff) and there were ducks in the creek.
I'm still reading Smoky House.  It's sweet.
I'm working on the big bat wing/shawl/sweater/wacky colored knitting project.  I'm not sure I'll wear it out in public but it'll be a warm wrap for cold homey mornings.
 Tim's pretending he's in a tree.
James likes to talk to Batman and Superman on the "phone".
Noah grew a tooth.  Isn't this a cute banana toothbrush?
These cutie pies are having spring break!  They went up to Estes Park to enjoy the great outdoors!  Aw!  Don't you love those precious smiles?  I do!

James and his daddy flew a kite, but I haven't.  I saw some tiny ones at the drug store.  Maybe I could manage one of those.
The wind is cold so I haven't been feeling very friendly toward it.
Are you going to buy an Easter dress?  I am not.  I have too many clothes and I rarely wear dresses, but isn't it fun to think about Easter dresses and hats?  Maybe we should just draw pictures of Easter dresses.  Would you like to?  I'll work on that and let me know if you are going to design a dress or two.  Don't forget the shoes and hats.

It's time to put supper in the oven.
Thank you very much for stopping in!
