Lots of Stuff!

I'm sorry I've been away from this space.  I DID visit my LYS and found the treasures above.  Watch and listen to the video I made while winding the hueloco skein.  Nicole dyes yarn in Boulder and the yarn shop carries her yarn now!  Weeeeee!

Prince Tim continues to follow us around the house.  He isn't naughty.  He is CUDDLY.  He's the perfect petty pet for us!
Lovely Heather sent my posy order in quick time!  Aren't they pretty?
 Nap time for Tim again!
Another warm day at the park!
And another sweetie pie wrapped in Granny's shawl!
A late birthday lunch with Miss Bug!
A movie watching/sitting on the sofa afternoon.  Millie Rose kept saying, "Keep knitting, Granny!"  I kept saying, "It's crochet."
A new pink tea pot at the tea shop (mall).  Pretty!
Crocus at the Denver Botanic Gardens!
I tagged along with Jeff, Christie, and the boys!
A weird lemon-y thing with the identification signage below.

The Dale Chihuly glass that lives at the Denver Botanic Gardens is stunning!  It was a free day at the gardens so it was crowded.  I asked James what he likes best about visiting there and he said, "I like to run on the paths!"  He does!
Afterwards we dined at the Saucy Noodle.  My spaghetti and big meatball in red sauce was delicious!

I think I already showed you this, but aren't Dutch iris divine?

Last Thursday Plum Cake and I had a tea party.  We've been having tea parties a lot lately, using my mama's tea cups, but Plum chose a more modern cuppa.

If you want to experience something adorable, watch this video.

I got Valentine roses from sweetie pie Bill (even though he was in Australia!)

The weather was warm enough for outdoor dish washing!

 I've been knitting more socks.

This yarn is for a Craftsy class knitted basket.
Hyacinths are on sale at the grocery store.

We have good candy to eat.

I took Miss Bug to the Polish Pottery Outlet to buy her teapot for her birthday (she picked out a lovely one) and I bought this lovey mug for Bill.

Lizzy picked a fairy house for me when she and her mommy were out shopping and my sweet sister sent me the mouse.  AW!
That's a drink from a firehose.  I'm sorry for so much all at once.
Today I am off to the fabric store to buy fleece fabric for blankets we're going to make after Bible study tomorrow.  Two friends are taking them to the homeless shelter.

February is waning and soon we'll be into blustery March and Lent!
Thank you for calling in!

Heat Wave

No, the forsythia isn't blooming yet but the weather today is balmy.  With storms in the east and cold temperatures in the northwest, it's over 70 degrees in my neck of the woods. It's tricky when we have unseasonable weather in February.  I think I will read over some of my old journals and remember that the cold is not gone for good.  Even with the toasty temps I still feel a bit hibernate-ish.  Do you?  My vitamin D levels were low at my last doctor appointment so I've been trying to stroll around outside and now they are normal again.  The truth is that I like staying indoors. With days like this I should be sunbathing but when I went outside to soak up some sun I heard my neighbors talking and noticed they were sitting outside, too.  I didn't want anyone else to be out there so I came inside.  Grinch!

A few years ago we had an early Easter and the dresses were stunning.  Remember last year when I had the Easter dress mishap?  The sewing hit a snag and I wadded up the calico fabric and tried to move on.  I have decided to revel in memories of all the Easter dresses my mother made for us when we were happy little girls.  Fifty-eight year old women can have wonderful and victoriously joyful Easter celebrations without new threads.  (Miss Bug wore a t-shirt under her sparkles because "it itched!")

My sweet Valentine will be in Australia so I'm meeting a friend for coffee and babysitting cutie pies on the actual heart day.  Millie Rose suggested I make heart cookies.  I might but I might not.  I really don't get a big kick out of baking anymore so how am I going to enjoy fika?  Baked goods purchased at the grocery store.  I have two small berry pies in the refrigerator.
There are SO many flowers at the grocery store.  I could buy MANY bunches of daffodils before I have any growing in my garden.  I did buy sweet pea seeds and poppy seeds, too!
I am finally finishing this striped sweater.  Yes!  I am knitting the sleeves at the same time so when I finish them the sweater will be done!  I think I will look a little bit like Winnie the Pooh in a striped sweater but that's okay.
I used to wear bright colors to school because I felt like the atmosphere needed positive charging due to the angst of middle school students and middle school teachers.  I was trying to cheer MYSELF up most of all.  Ha!  Now I have been thinking about the natural colors of sheep and wondering if I should stick to those colors.  I can still pin posies on my sheep-colored clothes.  Heather from Blackberry Rambles is sending me 11 new posies from her stash.  Yippee!
I have a bit of intestinal distress from eating cheese and sour cream (so sad that I must avoid dairy products) so I can't walk too far away from our house if you know what I mean.
I'm going back outside on the patio now. Seventy-eight (really!) degree weather shouldn't be wasted.
God be with you, sweet reader.

A Walk and Fika

Hello!  Today was an unseasonably warm day so I went for a walk.  I've been watching a podcast called Frostbite.  A young Finnish woman talks about her knitting, her sewing, and her outdoor life.  She often eats outside and I think eating outside is  a good idea.  Here is a link to the podcast:

As I walked the neighborhood I took some more "trail-ish" routes so I could find a place to have a snack at a later date (I had lunch at PF Chang today with Kelli, Christie, and Jenny, so I was NOT hungry on my walk).

Isn't this cool siding-decor?  So clever!

It's always nice to see a red house among all the neutral homes.

So, that's my Sunday stroll (remember that my friend Marcie hosts the stroll).

When we visited friends in Oregon (they lived in Sweden for quite some time) we learned about fika.  This is Swedish coffee break.  Jennifer at Thistlebear featured this book on her blog a while ago and piqued my interest.  I was reminded again so I ordered this lovely book!  I am eager to learn about fika.  Our friend said that fika is essential in Sweden and all work stops for it twice during the work day.  Isn't that a grand idea?

💕💕💕  I will let you know how my adoption of fika progresses.
 I hope you like Spiderman.
 Noah likes the park!
The moon has been stunning lately.
Miss Bug turned 8 but she had the flu!  Poor baby!  She's feeling better now.
Noah really is growing like a weed.
Here's the real baby around here.  He has a happy life. We are constantly greeting him with kind tones 😀, serving kitty snacks, scooping him up and kissing him . . . he's spoiled in a good way!

Thank you for stopping in to say hello.
More soon!
