Cinderella, Family, Mice and a Good Book

Do you love this Cinderella illustration by William Henry Margetson?  It's called "Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother".

I've been cross stitching again. I'm rusty, but it's fun to explore patterns and watch Flosstube videos.
Saturday we saw all of our peeps!  All eleven grands were here throughout the day!  It was a serendipitous delight!

We're so excited to see everyone again on Thanksgiving Day!
Today is Bill's birthday so we had a fun lunch with these girlies, ate cake, and celebrated Grampy!  We'll see two more families at dinner.  Happy happy birthday, dear Bill!

I love this Richard Scarry illustration.  I am going to frame it and hang it in our bedroom.

I have berry, apple, and pumpkin pie to make tomorrow.  I will cut up veggies for a heaping tray of carrots, peppers, mushrooms, celery . . .  and make artichoke dip (I bought some fancy cheeses).
I just finished a moving book titled With God in Russia.  It's written by Walter Ciszek and is a record of the time he spent in Russian prison camps.  Whoa.  I couldn't put it down.
I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving!  For my friends abroad, "Come on over!"

Happy Birthday to Bill!!
I am quite fond of Richard Scary and his books which I must have read and reread to my boys years ago. That's a cute illustration.
You must be very busy getting everything ready for the big day. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving with your gang.

so many wonderful things! God bless and grant Bill many more years!!! enjoy your family and have a wonderful thanksgiving!!! That book on Russia (googled it quick) looks great! You may like the book _Everyday Saints_ that is super readable and about that time period and various people (lots of them monks) who kept their faith during that time.... brave, beautiful, sometimes funny, that book is really wonderful and beautiful, poignant... it is amazing how God gets people through life and such hard times!!! I hope this week is a real joy for you and your family!!! a HUG to you!

Happy birthday, Bill!!! What a lovely, large family you have, and how your grandies are growing UP! What fun. I do love that Richard Scarry picture -- but am wondering why both pairs of slippers are on the same side of the bed? I guess they both crawl out that way :) So cute. Your pie baking sounds delish. I made a pumpkin and a pecan, plus 2 casseroles, to contribute to our large church dinner at 2:00. 15 around the table. Happy Thanksgiving to you, dear friend!

I read that book once, it was just shocking to me at the time. It was a good book.
Have a lovely day.
