August Talk

Here's the harvest!  Sweet peas and zucs.  I grated a bunch of zucchini today, bagged it and put it in the freezer.  We might be in the mood for baked goods this winter.  I don't really want to look at any more zucchini.

I bought Timothy a new toy (for exercise) and I guess he is opposed to exercise because he found a way to play with it lying down.
I need to get a new phone because the photos are fuzzy and my phone has been crashing.  Maybe it has something to do with the one million pictures I have on it.
Plum's been painting again.  I draw (I know, my drawings are weird) and she watercolors.

I was looking at the shoes below and little Miss Plum Cake made a point to tell me, "You can't wear those shoes.  They are for young-year-olds." Maybe so.  They ARE for rich people.  Look at the price tag!

Katy came back!  Hi, Katy!  It's nice to see you!  Is fall coming soon?

Because my photos are fuzzy, I thought I'd find some lovely older photos.  Christie made this strawberry shortcake a few years ago.  Don't you wish it was on a plate in front of you?  I do.
There's something VERY photogenic about jelly beans, don't you think so?
Here are some gorgeous blooms from my niece's wedding LAST summer.  Peonies.  Always a win.

Bill is home!  Yay!  He had a trip full of flight glitches which doesn't really happen all that often.  He's still jet lagging.  I hope we get all straightened out soon.  I'm a little sleepy.
So how IS August going for you?  I did go swimming with Christie, James, and Noah and it was FUN!  I planted pansies.  I've been reading D. E. Stevenson books.  Kim of My Field of Dreams is reading some, too.  Elizabeth from Little Rose has featured them.  Have you read one?  They are comforting sort of stories.

Here's a comforting cup of tea for you.
Thank you for popping in.  It's so nice when you stop by.

Sounds like a lovely August for you.
I love the paintings all hanging up for show.
I agree with you in that jelly beans make for great photos, so colorful.
That's quite the price to pay for shoes!!
Our squash is ready for harvesting soon and I'm already over it. Last year was plentiful.

Have a great week~

Nice to see paintings on display, it really makes a home I think. I like the shoes too but not at that price! I just ordered up some cosy sheepskin boots as I have a feeling this Winter is going to be a cold one.

Sounds like your August was a good one. Your pictures are great. It seems like August just flew by which is okay since it was so hot the first part.

I was out watering the other day and there was a breeze and I could feel Fall in the air. We have had such a HOT summer that I am looking forward to Fall weather. I also have been thinking about my Fall decorations. I am not doing as much as I normally do as it's just to much to pack and unpack. I will be getting rid of a lot of stuff, pairing it down.

Wow those shoes, that's a lot of money, but if your rich and famous I guess it is alright to speed that much.

Have a good week.

Hugs,
Mary

I love starting my morning reading your delightful blog. I am so glad you are reading D.L. Stevenson. I read my first one, Vittoria Cottage. I am in love. I got the next two at the library. I love its sweet message. I am a pretty happy camper with her. Its a nice surprise.
My phone is doing weird things, but I am going to stick it out as long as I can.
I hope you have a wonderful week. Isn't it nice to go swimming. I had to laugh at the shoes and that comment from your sweetie pie. They are so cute and so funny aren't they.

August has been great. Busy, busy like always but great. School has at least started so I'm glad life will settle back into a routine. I seem to get more things accomplished that way. The grated zucchini will be great this upcoming season in breads and cakes.

August has been really busy for me. I'm behind in commenting on blogs. Wow, I can't believe the price on those shoes. Miss Plum Cake made a cute remark about the shoes. You never know what will come out of the kids.s mouth.

I feel bad about your phone not working as it should. My daughter lost the sound in hers and cannot send or receive calls from her 4 month old android phone. She could send and receive texts. I have the super abundance of big zucchini too.
Hugs, Julia

Happy late August to you, Pom! I know how you feel about zucchini. I am a little over whelmed with the baseball bats I've been growing! lol

These are busy days, but it feels so relaxing to take a break with you and read your posts! Thank you.

I love the cup of tea and must check into reading the books you shared. I am a reader. That is my favorite way to read.
Love all the photo shares. I have millions of photos on my phone too. LOL!
We got iphone 7's about a month ago. I seem to have a bit more memory to share.
Hoping your day has been pleasant and your week will be wonderful.
Thanks for visiting me!

I know what you mean about the zucchini. I am also getting tired of cucumbers. : )
Haven't read any Stevenson books.

Haha...I might have to adopt that saying..."they are for young year olds!" Love it. Yay for Bill being home. I'll have to look up the E. Stevenson books. I have not read any. And yes, I do wish I had a plate of Strawberry shortcake in front of me!

Don't freeze all your zucchini before you make some of Jody's Lemon Rosemary bread!

I don't think your granddaughter understands about age and footwear. YOU are the right age for those shoes - but maybe not the right income bracket!

I don't like to freeze zucchini, but I do like to freeze Zucchini bread! Love those sweet peas. And that Sweet Plum and her watercolor paintings. So fun. I sometimes draw pics for my grandkids to color too. "Young year olds!" That's just too funny.

Lovely Sweet Peas. Mine have finally succumbed to the heat. I have brought so many bunches in that I'm okay with them drying up. I'll plant them again next year.
Yea for your hubby being back home.
Funny Timothy. He's quite inventive, isn't he!!

August has just been hot for me! Everybody went back to school way too early and because of that I feel like it should be fall. I have been doing a bit of decluttering. That is always a good thing! Nothing outside though.

Thank you for the cup of tea, Pom Pom; love the pretty tea cup. Gorgeous post filled with Sweet Peas, clever water colourists, pretty blue shoes, snoozy kitty cats......... Yes indeed, it is always a delight to visit your lovely little corner of the world.

I think someone mentioned DE Stevenson books before, but I'd forgotten. Must go add him to my wish list. Now ... is Sir Timothy looking a bit rotund? Perhaps it's just how he's lying there. He's adorable with his new toy!!! I do love how you make a combined art effort with your little ones, sketching for them to color. That's such a sweet thing. I'm watching "Persuasion" now, thank you, dear! And sipping tea! Adam is in the garden heat, weeding, poor thing.

That Plum is simply adorable!! I love what she said about "young-year-olds". Those shoes!!! are cute, but all the shoes in my closet would not amount to 180.00!! :) Your blog is always pretty!!

Do you mind if I drop a few ice cubes into that cup of tea? :) The humidity here is doing me in. I hope Katy told you that fall is coming soon :)
Wow, you have had a successful zucchini crop! Adding some to the freezer sounds like a great idea and one that will be appreciated in the middle of winter.
