A Walk and Fika

Hello!  Today was an unseasonably warm day so I went for a walk.  I've been watching a podcast called Frostbite.  A young Finnish woman talks about her knitting, her sewing, and her outdoor life.  She often eats outside and I think eating outside is  a good idea.  Here is a link to the podcast:

As I walked the neighborhood I took some more "trail-ish" routes so I could find a place to have a snack at a later date (I had lunch at PF Chang today with Kelli, Christie, and Jenny, so I was NOT hungry on my walk).

Isn't this cool siding-decor?  So clever!

It's always nice to see a red house among all the neutral homes.

So, that's my Sunday stroll (remember that my friend Marcie hosts the stroll).

When we visited friends in Oregon (they lived in Sweden for quite some time) we learned about fika.  This is Swedish coffee break.  Jennifer at Thistlebear featured this book on her blog a while ago and piqued my interest.  I was reminded again so I ordered this lovely book!  I am eager to learn about fika.  Our friend said that fika is essential in Sweden and all work stops for it twice during the work day.  Isn't that a grand idea?

💕💕💕  I will let you know how my adoption of fika progresses.
 I hope you like Spiderman.
 Noah likes the park!
The moon has been stunning lately.
Miss Bug turned 8 but she had the flu!  Poor baby!  She's feeling better now.
Noah really is growing like a weed.
Here's the real baby around here.  He has a happy life. We are constantly greeting him with kind tones 😀, serving kitty snacks, scooping him up and kissing him . . . he's spoiled in a good way!

Thank you for stopping in to say hello.
More soon!

Looks like a nice walk with good weather. It's been a while since we walked the neighborhood. Little Noah really has grown. Such a sweetie. Glad birthday girl is doing better. Boy so much sickness going around. First time I'm hearing about Fika but I do know my Swedish mother in law and her family enjoyed their coffee.

I've never heard of FIKA but I myself stop twice a day for a lovely tea break. Outside, if possible, which it certainly isn't right now.
Poor birthday girl having the flu. I hope she feels better.

Thanks for introducing us to Fika. I had never heard of that word but I do take tea or coffee break at least once a day. Poor little bug, having the flu is not fun. I hope she's feeling much better today. Your little grandson is growing like a weed. Love the blue skies.
Enjoy your new week Pompom..
Hugs,
Julia

Hope little Miss Bug is well soon - she could do with some hygge - gosh first hygge and now fika! It's so nice that so many people in blogland are focusing on the gentle pleasures and small treats in life and fika is definitely on that list! Your walk looks like you have some snow but sunny skies, fresh and brisk? I liked the red house. I haven't been for a walk in a while and spotted catkins over the fence nodding away in the woods, then driving out today I saw snowdrops - Spring is on the way! Betty x

Fika sounds like a likely ingredient in the recipe for Hygge :-)

No snow? Pretty trails you travel. I like the red house amongst the earthy colored ones. I'm intrigued by the Fika book. I noticed that on the cover there is the coffee making process I use most -- the pour over funnel over the pot or mug.
Cutie Kiddos!!
