My Mom, My Sisters

Yesterday at dinnertime, I ate tacos and chips with James and his parents.  It was so fun.  The street tacos were delicious (a new place) and the queso was scrumptious.  James indulged in lots of dips.
When I returned home these cherubs arrived (their mama needed a little break so she and her hubby dined out).  We watched Olympic gymnastics and that was VERY fun.  They loved it.

I had such a perfect time with my lovely mother.  It was like a ten day slumber party.  She is so delightful, so strong, such a super good sport.  I adore her so much and I wish I could see her every day.
We met the Ft. Collins grands and lovely April for dinner on Saturday.  Finners was with his other grandparents.  Isn't my mom beautiful?
We visited the Polish Pottery Outlet in Denver.  Oh my gosh.  I can't get enough of this place.

I bought myself a mug.  New favorite!

We met up with my darling Boulder niece at Kelli's.  It was very noisy and FUN!  Mom and I made a birthday cake for Amy and our crowd ate every bite!
I have decided to wear a ponytail again (slight insignificant detail) because I'm not liking my haircut.  My ponytail is one half inch long.  Ha ha !
Look at these two!  I love our Jeff and his wee boy!  Guess what happens next month?  Yes, James will welcome his brother.  Christie is doing so well.  She is so beautiful and well tempered.  (She was sitting on my side so she isn't in the pic).

My two sisters stayed with my Mom for the wedding last weekend so we had my sister Karol's hubby take a photo.  From the left it's Karol, me, Mom, and Kristi.  It was so nice sleeping in the same house!  Oh, how I love my sisters! (remember that from Little Women?) I must confess I am significantly fatter than this picture reveals.  I passed a few mirrors while in Washington and had to take a second look.  Chubs!  Oh well.  I shall not sweat it because I've weighed about the same for ten years and I do have less piggy eating sessions that I used to. Victory!

I've discovered something about knitting podcasts.  I like the knitters best who are closer to my age.  I like the way that they are pretty real and relaxed.  I am still thinking about doing a few podcasts but I know myself and my rambling ways so I shall have to work on extreme organization.  I want to avoid too many "umms"!
Thank you for stopping in.  I have a few quiet days before Bill returns.
I have some news that I find very exciting that will lend itself to a few more cute photos.  Stay tuned.  (Thank you for visiting, royal nice person!)

fun post! I admit I don't really watch or listen to podcasts of other bloggers; but I do understand the relief of realizing that you have a friend that is close to one's own age; I have very few of them here where I live now. Your Mom is beautiful! I never thought of you as 'chubs' by the way, but as BEAUTIFUL too! Haircuts are so tricky, aren't they!? I wear my hair back a lot too, esp. when it is humid!

I'm so excited for your up-and-coming grandchild!

How delightful your pictures of mum/sisters/you are! you are such a happy family and you all look so pretty. It would be fun to watch you doing a podcast. Changing hair is always fun, I think your short style is very easy care and tidy. How exciting having a baby about to join you all!

Yes, your mom is lovely and you look so much like her! I think you resemble her more than your sisters do. What a cheery bunch you are.
I'm wearing my hair in a pony tail too these days. Too hot to have hair on my neck .

You and your pretty mom look so much like one another! You mentioned a pony tail, but I thought you had cut it short. Bet it is cute! I like your pink rose felted pin. I copied you and bought some, too.

What beautiful women!! You all have "that smile."
Karen, I just have to tell you that I think you made some very fashionable choices in the top you are wearing (at the top) and the dress you are wearing at the bottom. I've been looking at clothing for those of us over 50 lately and you really look smashing in your duds.

So nice that you could spend some quality time with your mom. I'll bet she had fun!

What wonderful family pics! What a precious family you have. I can sure see how much you enjoyed your Mom there with you. You certainly don't look fat in your photos. Sometimes we are our worst critic! LOL I also like your haircut. Perhaps when it grows out more you'll like it. I would love for my hair to look like that! Have a blessed day.

I watch a range of podcasts, but I totally get what you mean about the age thing. I think that the "older" podcasters - of which I suspect I am one! - are more relaxed somehow compared to some of the younger ones, I think that is just the thing of becoming more relaxed and comfortable in our own skin as we age isn't it. I hope that I am one of the ones you like, I cannot wait to see your episodes when you start!!

What a beautiful post in so many ways, beautiful women, beautiful children, and the sweet lady who is writing it! I think we all have a few extra pounds, lol! Enjoyed all the pictures, and truly, your mom is a beautiful lady too, such joy can be seen in her eyes. Enjoy your weekend my friend, hugs to you!
