Winter Wonderland and a Birthday Sweetheart!

Hooray for Groundhog Day!  Less winter?  We have a lot of it today.  Poor Bill has been out shoveling and clearing for a good part of this lovely Tuesday!

I am thrilled that we finally agreed about where to put the island.  I assured Bill that we'll get used to it.  I love it right here where I can lean on it and pile stuff upon it!  Woot!

It's Missy Miss Bug's seventh birthday!  We get to host her birthday dinner (burritos and strawberries) and eat CAKE!  My cake turned out horrible (sunk in the middle) but I piled lots of frosting on it and we'll drown it in ice cream.

Even though our world is white outside it is NICE to welcome February.  We have two more lovely girls to celebrate soon!
Time to cook!  Sending heaps of love your way!

Such pretty snow!! I think it all looks wonderful. Have a very fun birthday party tonight.
It sounds like a winner.
Your flowers are so pretty.

Oh, I hope that you can make snowmen with the snow. It's so much fun. You put an old hat and scarf on and the girls would be good at finding something to make the eyes and a carrot nose.

Happy Birthday to your granddaughter. I'm sure it will be a fun party and the cake will taste just great with icing.

I love your tulips. They are so pretty.
Happy Groundhog Day and Happy Leap Year.
Hugs,
JB

I keep forgetting to tell you that I love your new banner... is it one of your drawings? I'm jealous of your snow... we have rain and much warmer than normal temps here. My granddaughter turns 3 next week... such fun! I love your island, my kitchen isn't big enough for an island. Have a happy week!

Oh girl! You really got a dumping of snow! Glad everything inside is so cheerful getting ready to celebrate! I like your attitude about that cake. No use crying over sunk cake!

WOW, you guys got a good dumping of winter!!! We got a skiff but it's still coming down lightly. The Black Hills are getting a good dump though.

Party Month!!! We have two birthdays in February too. It looks like you're on the road to some fun and frolic at your house!!

Your kitchen island looks like it's always been there. Right at home!
Happy birthday to all. I love the wrapping paper! And you are very clever at disguising cakes!

Lovely birthday balloon and flower pictures - it felt like I could just step in and be there too! the island is practical - we don't have enough room for one (if I lie down that's how long and wide the kitchen floor space is! Happy birthday to Miss Bug. Betty x

Like that island. We have one and couldn't do without it. You really got the snow!

Cakes don't have to be perfect, bet it was tasty!

Hi, Pom Pom! I LOVE your island! I love your gift wrapping paper and the tulips are gorgeous! I am sure your cake was delish! I think your snow is beautiful -- don't think we are going to have any this year which is fine with me. Texas doesn't know how to do snow gracefully. Really enjoyed all your photos this morning!

So that's where all the snow is hiding! It looks so pretty, but I know it's a lot of work to shovel.
Despite the wintry conditions outside, it looks downright spring-like inside with that pretty bouquet of tulips.
Happy Birthday to your little birthday girl.

Love your island. Looks great there.
I'm sure the cake will taste just as good and more icing and ice cream sound like a great solution. : )

Happy heart month to you all! I want to hang hearts everywhere this weekend- red tulips would be lovely too! Happy birthday to all your lovely girls- April is our big birthday month, but with Easter so early it will be missing the bunny theme! We have had no proper snow yet this winter, which has mostly been strangely warm and darkly wet for the main. Jo and I dream of snow!

Tell Bill to take care while shoveling and the island looks wonderful, especially with the copper atop. If I ever have an island, it'll have lockable feet so it can be moved as needed. Happy Birthday fun to all the family!
