Just Thinking

The two weeks of holiday merry making are officially over now.  Our December family time was full, rich in fellowship and FOOD.  The toys in the family room were in constant use and the guest bed has been changed a few times in December.  There are popcorn kernels scattered in the family room and the entire house could be blessed with a deep clean.

This soup has been eaten but there is a pot of chili in the fridge and a pea soup waiting to be made and simmered.
I am reading many books at once, figuring and speculating, organizing my thoughts and eliminating extra fluff around my Rule of Life plan.
We've been walking at the mall but I think I need to walk around the neighborhood, too.  I like to survey our little patch of community.
Now I am going to write on real paper with an inky pen.  I'm giving myself a wee bit of quiet while Bill is out lunching with friends.
I feel a slow sense of expectancy now that we are beginning 2016.  Do you?
I shall brew a cup of tea and wait for a while.

I wrote on paper, too, but not the nice kind of writing you are doing. I got caught up on bills! :)
I still write and mail them instead of going online. It was interesting writing 2016 instead of 2015!
Have a lovely day contemplating and writing!

In 2016 I actually want to quit thinking so much. I waste too much energy "thinking ahead" and I just want take each day, each moment as it comes.

I tend to think too many what ifs.

Your icy tree photo is beautiful!

Lots of good thoughts! I wrote - with fingers on keyboard so that the writing could keep up with my brain - for 30 mins today just whatever I thought of, I hope that tomorrow I will write less drivel! I am sure that you wrote wonderful things! xx

I always like to see your knitting. I think when I knit...that's when I drop a stitch or make some other knitwit error. Your All At Once book group looks like my knit, crochet, twine and sew group. It's great to be a multi-tasker. We have been having pots of soups and stews, too...winter weather is perfect for hot stuff. And oh, your winter photo is stunning. Enjoy January...it's one of my favorite months and I'm writing about it all month.

I usually read a few books at one time too.
I kind of like when the holidays are over and things go back to normal. : )

Knitting , soup, books and walks all sound like a good way to spend some quality time with oneself.
A slower time of year for me as well although I could get really busy as there's lot to do but I'm walking to a different beat.

Blessings & hugs.

What a lovely picture that is, the one of the snowy trees and the fluffy white clouds in the sky. ( Well, where else would they be?)
I made pea soup and we had it two days in a row. There's enough for another day. I find it hard to make a SMALL pot of soup.
I like the looks of your reading material.

Sounds like you are getting back to "real" life -- less technology -- I can appreciate that for sure! Writing with an inky pen -- love it!

The rush is over. Your house sounds as busy as ours. Yes. Now time slow down and reflect. I am going to rekindle my friendship with the treadmill starting this morning. After I sit and think for a while.

Tomorrow is Epiphany, and glory shines around your house and in your mind. Savor your moment alone, and I know you are rejoicing in your blessings.

Pea soup sounds excellent!

I need the peaceful quiet that this post exudes. Being at home in the mornings only is just not enough, esp. when there's cleaning, laundry, weaving to do, plus errands. I loved my 2 weeks off work. Your yarn looks yummy and warm. Oh, how I LOVED reading "L'Abri"!! Wonderful book. Keep us posted on what you're learning.
