Lovely Views

I made it to my homeland!  Toes painted but no bag.  I couldn't find just the right one.  I think I'll make one but I must do some thinking about one hard thing . . . a zipper. I think I can do it.
I know I have wonky toes.  Sorry.
Heather from Blackberry Rambles sells these lovely felt flowers at Etsy.  Her shop is The Felted Flower Shop.  I have an abundance of corsages/brooches to wear now.  YAY!
Look at the sunflowers!  These were for sale at the grocery store.  So happy!
Views from Mom's house.  Pretty!  Potatoes are growing in the field and the sun is shining.

 Gorgeous hydrangeas EVERYWHERE!  #wedonthavethemincolorado

Mom lives in the neighborhood we grew up in.  She lives in a condo now.  My childhood home is nearby and they were having a garage sale so I asked politely if I could just peek inside the front door and the current owners said yes.  It was so fun to see that dear old house again.  It looks friendly!  The same familiar rooms, the wrought iron rail where we set our school books, the kitchen.  It made me so happy to see it all again.
The golf course is still very pretty.  We were not ace golfers but we enjoyed the views.

Wild blackberry bushes.  I wish I could have picked enough for a pie, but we've had delicious rhubarb crisp.

Do you see the eagle on the right in the photo above?

We went to my brother and sister-in-law's house for dinner last night.  She put cute blue shutters on the shed my brother built.  My other brother and his wife came, too.  Dave is doing SO well after his surgery.  Thank you again for praying!

Susan is a sweet granny and an excellent homemaker.

We went to my birth church.  Here is where I was baptized, confirmed, and married.  The pastor was retiring so the service was extra special.

My sister asked me to photograph the "cry room".  It's sweet and pretty much the same as when we were kids.

Guess what's happening at home?  Jeff and Christie adopted a kitten for James.  So far, he loves her.  Her name is Scout.  I can't wait to pet our new little grand kitten!
Tomorrow we are taking the ferry over to see my sister.  I can't wait.  We're eating at my other brother's house on Tuesday.  They have a really cool house, too.
On Wednesday we are going orca watching and I promise to take a lot of photos.
Thank you for tuning in.
I'll be back soon!

I am so glad you are having fun and taking lots of pictures. How wonderful to be able to go back and see things again. All of the flowers are just beautiful.
I love Scout.
Does your family love, love, love. To Kill a Mockingbird? :)
I hope you get to see some whales.
Have a lovely time with your family.

There is so much to love here - the WA trees and flowers, and potato fields!!! the play house things - are they in a play house, or on a porch...? I love that little area with the stump and the chairs...gives me ideas for my new yard.

The pictures of your birth church made me think immediately of my husband's birth church and I thought I could smell it! So dear... I'm happy you are having this rich time. Love.

I love all your posts but really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Thanks for taking me along with you.

The area is almost similar to our English countryside. Hydrangeas are so Cornish, and are in flower everywhere here. But sunflowers...no! They remind me of France.

How wonderful that you got to see inside your birth house and church. It must have brought a lot of sweet memories of your youth.
I love the scenery. What a beautiful place.
I love, love hydrangeas.

I've been so busy this summer, I never even painted my toe nails. Hopefully next summer i'll find more time to relax.
Hugs,
JB

Gorgeous pictures as ever! I've had some sunflowers in our living room this week, so sunny. Our hydrangeas are in full flower too.

And the kitten is just so cute. I want to play, kittens are such fun. xxx

Oh boy! What a fun time you are having. How nice that your mom and your sibs are all close by so you can visit with them all.

Lovely hydrangeas. I don't think we can grow them here either.

Kiss Mama!

Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your past. How evocative the little Church is and you all have such fabulous houses over there. Loads of 'house envy' going on over here! Enjoy the rest of your stay. x

I think we should all put pictures of our feet on our blogs! My toes are wonky, too. Thanks for all the gorgeous pictures. I feel almost like I'm there. I'm so glad you got to peek inside your childhood home. I had so many. It would be fun to see them again. I LOVE the very old looking play kitchen. Well stocked! I can see you in all the garden decorations. Such creativity is expressed in your family. Have lots more fun!

This was all so lovely, Pom! Your hydrangeas are gorgeous. I hope to have some of those at our new place. Glad you are having such a good visit with family. It restores the soul, doesn't it? And you get to revisit so many good, old places and give a hug to your old child inside :)

oh how lovely for you to see your old home and old church and tread the same paths you did as a child. Everything looks homely there.
