Cluck!

The campers met some chickens at the "market" located on the campground.  Jenny and Scott decided ON THE SPOT that they would like to have chickens, too. They bought a coup and found two six month old hens within hours!  Wow!  Now our Brad and April AND our Jenny and Scott are chicken owners! Plum Cake had to go out in the rain to speak to the girls.
George the cat (I love him - so pretty!) is not sure what to think of this addition to HIS property.
Meanwhile, I was at Kelli's with the three princesses.  We got all ready for bed and then blew some twilight bubbles.  FUN!
The birds are tweeting up a storm here.  It is a quiet day for me.  I'm already feeling the lure of a nap at this early hour.
Maybe a cup of tea would do the trick.
Thank you for popping by to gaze at our grand hens.
Happy Monday to YOU!

I have always wanted chickens - they are a little messy although friends who have chickens say that if you put woodchip down it is helpful and you can replace it. My brother once worked on a farm and when I visited the chickens were very friendly and wanted to sit on my lap, I hope your new chickens are partial to this. I had a nap in the garden today, the wind was blowing and it was very restful - garden naps are the best! Betty

Well hopefully eggs will be gathered soon. Fresh eggs are fabulous. Love the shot of Plum Cake at the chicken coop!

Cute chicken coop. Looks like it can be moved around. Hope you get lots of farm fresh eggs. There is nothing like it. I used to have chickens and it was so much fun collecting them....we always had more then enough. We had ducks too....and those eggs were 3 times as big. One duck egg was worth 3 aracana chicken eggs. Yep those were the good days.

That chicken coop is so cute ( and the chickens too). WE used to have half a dozen lovely brown hens but now by-law forbids backyard chickens. Too bad. I had a nap today... I was resting on the porch swing and next thing I knew 45 minutes had passed. It wasn't quite as warm today and I had a fan blowing on me so I was very comfy.

Love the cute little chicken coop! I saw a similar one at my local Fleet Supply store and it almost made me want to go into the chicken business! ;)
Hugs, dear friend!

Chickens are so very popular these days. I want some too. You are doing all the lovely granny things you longed to do, when you retired -- isn't it wonderful?
