Sunday Doings

A hawk swooped in yesterday afternoon.  Aren't you pleased when you see bigger birds?  We had a huge crow that hung around eating all the suet for a few days, but I wasn't as excited about him.  He was cute, though.
We had a happy fourth of July, lots of good food and good company.  After the sweet ones left, I took a nap.  Now I am cleaning, getting ready for our fun Australian house guests.
This hustle and bustle inspired me to hang a few things on the kitchen wall.  Yay!
Cleaning is not for the faint of heart, is it?  I used to clean houses before I turned into a teacher (via going back to college with a lot of young people).  I would work so fast and so hard for four hours, pack up my supplies, and close the door and lock it (or not if they were home).  It was exhausting.  I think the hardest part of cleaning is tugging the vacuum cleaner around.  Actually, I have a bit more vacuum cleaner tugging to do now and then some mopping and straightening and then I will stop and enjoy the guests.
I hope you have a smooth week, full of little blurbs of encouragement and deep breaths.
Thank you for stopping by. xoxoxo

Having family visiting is the best but as we get older, it take a bit more energy out of us.

My visitors just left and I have a bit of cleaning and dusting to do. The beds have been stripped, bedding on the line, laundry is done, the toys put away, table reduced in size, and I'm resting a bit today in between barn chores. The cleaning will be for later.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday
Hugs,
JB

I love that cute little arrangement of pictures and plate on your beadboard wall! :)
Enjoy your company and don't work too hard! (As my mom always reminded me, "They're coming to see you, not the house." :)

What a cool thing to see a hawk in your yard. I do love larger birds that aren't of the crow variety!
Glad you had a good celebration of the 4th.
Happy week to you!

I always enjoy seeing what you are doing and what you have going on. I like what you have on the walls. So glad you got your plate hung. Have fun with those guests.
It is different cleaning for other people isn't it? I am not sure I would have the stamina to do it now like I did when I was in my 20s.
Have a lovely Sunday with your friends.

Well, you don't need to tell me about lugging a vacuum around the house!!!Happy Belated Independence Day to you. We lost a continent but gained a few good friends, hopefully! Australians are go-getters, I love them too! Have a great week, Pom. xxx

I like to see hawks but don't often get to. More often it's eagles I see by the lake. As to cleaning house? The older I get the less fussy i am about dusting. That is NOT a job I enjoy ( probably because I have so many things to dust!!!). Enjoy your visitors.

You hit a nerve. While I was teaching, I was too tired to clean so I hired Tina. Tina still cleans for me. I can't let her go, though I should. She comes every three weeks, so I have to clean in between. Ugh. We are off to Teas for a week. Our first get away in a while. Aren't you loving your new kitchen?

Vacuuming is my least favorite household task. I enjoy washing dishes (no dishwasher), like sweeping with an old fashioned broom, and find hanging laundry on the line a big of a meditation. The vacuum is another story altogether! Enjoy your guests. I know some wonderful stories will be shared!

oh sigh, no.... i do not like to see a hawk. because they terrorize little birds.

yes, i know. it is the way of nature. the way of all nature.

but i guess i prefer they do their eating, not in my yard. lol silly me. as if nature will bow to my little wishes. :-))))
