Pleasant Pictures

While I watched movies with grands, I knit up a storm (sort of - I'm NOT a fast knitter) and I actually FINISHED the New Zealand wool sweater I've been working on for a while.  It's so cozy! It's not terribly itchy either.  That's a plus.  Now I might try to finish the striped sweater.  I'm feeling a bit of spunky knitting confidence.

I had to take the car out to retrieve Bill from his long walk this morning.  It was pouring down soft rain.  It's a good day for chili and cinnamon rolls.
I'm sorry that I can't give you exact sources for the images below.  I think I found them all on Pinterest or Flickr.

Do you collect pretty images?  I know Tessa at Here There Be Musing does.  It's about the only thing I use my printer for.
I'm planning a quiet day, cleaning and tidying up.  Reading and drinking tea.  Don't you take that kind of day whenever you CAN?
"The important thing is to know how to take all things quietly." ~ Michael Faraday

"Quiet brain, or I'll stab you with a Q-tip!"

Thank you for coming by and admiring my knitting.  It's such a rarity that I have a finished object to share.
Tea time. Bye!

I love your sweater you made. It does look so soft and wonderful to wear on a rainy day. I like your quote, especially the one by Homer Simpson. :) I feel that way sometimes.
I hope you have a lovely day. I hope you get to have lots of quiet time.
Happy Thursday!

beautiful sweater... love the colors...

not too itchy? do you have some issues, with wearing wool? I do.

my mother had a beautiful dress made for me, when I was about 10-11. I love it.

put it on and could not wear it. I didn't break out in a rash or anything. I just couldn't stand the FEEL of it, on my skin. :-(

thank you for mentioning my love of pretty pictures!!! I do love to find and post them. Then I always have them, and their link, in my blog. :-)

Happy 4th of July, to you and to yours,
Tessa

I love your new squishy-soft sweater. Good job. I love the Homer Simpson quote but each time I think of the Simpsons, I get a tinge of guilt. Shall I tell you why? When my boys were school-age, The Simpsons had just started to be shown on our UK tv and the boys loved watching it but the timing of it always coincided with our dinner mealtimes. Well, I used to turn off the tv while we ate, even though they were watching their new favourite programme! I still feel guilty about that. It seems like something only a horrible Mother would do!!!

Wonderful sweater! I haven't knit in a while, but I've been feeling the itch lately.

I love all your pictures. Many of them take me back to my childhood.

I like a quiet day, too. This week has been one of those nice weeks where I've moved from the garden to the kitchen and done little chores here and there. No big projects.

Hope you're having a lovely summer! xofrances

Congratulations on finishing your sweater. it's beautiful and soft looking.

I used to play with doll cut outs for hours. A lot of imagination was taking place as I was playing with my paper dolls for hours. Such simple pleasures.... Thanks for the sweet memory.

A quieter pace sounds heavenly.
Enjoy the summer. Hugs,
JB

Congratulations on finishing your sweater. I always feel such a sense of accomplishment when I finish a project... and then I dive right in to another one! I like you pretty pages. Do you do anything with them, like frame and hang them?

I love the old fashioned illustrations, esp. the paper dolls. I'm always on the lookout for old books of paper dolls. I'm another one who can't abide itchy clothes. Anything with wool is out. Too bad, really.

The sweater is magnificent! It does look so soft and cozy. I am always impressed by you knitters. It looks very difficult to me -- especially getting everything to look so uniform and perfect. Well done!

I like your picture collection. I noticed one photo of a girl riding a bird. I'm almost positive I saw that bird in the pasture today while we were taking cows out. I think it's a snipe.

The knitting looks lovely and soft. My great aunt was a midwife and well into her 80s when my boys were born - she made them vests knitted in wool so light soft it was made by fairies - I didn't like the idea of putting babies into wool at bedtime, but she knew best - when they wore them they always slept soundly, when they didn't they cried! I like your pictures, maybe you can make up your own stories for the grandchildren from them? Betty x

Nice quiet post with which to begin my morning. Thank you. Your sweater is so pretty. I especially love the illustration of the little girl hanging her laundry
I will be doing a bit of that myself today.

Very pretty and sweet knitted sweater. It is so nice to finish a yarny project. I'm trying to finish up several UFO's, but then I started a bed jacket caplet for a 92 year old sweet lady in a nursing home, but it's crochet, so I will finish it pretty quickly. Nice printed images. Hope you are having a nice summer. I'm working, working, working....will need a vacation before long. Happy 4th of July!

What a pretty sweater! Don you have the pattern for it? I'm rather scared of doing whole sweaters. T the pics are nice. I like the running fox and other animals. Richard Scarry? And the teapot table. Happy knitting, dear!
