Pin the Tail on the Mermaid

Yesterday was Miss Bugs birthday party.  We had a good dose of snow so it really was a winter wonderland out at their house!
My job was to draw a quick mermaid for Pin the Tail on the Mermaid.
When Kelli's family moved into this house there wasn't a staircase close enough to the girls' room, so they had one built.  I couldn't imagine how that was going to work (not a great house structure visualizer) but it's amazing!
Kelli didn't have a lot of curtains in her other house, but I love the curtains she chose for this one.  Don't you love curtains?  I do.

To save space, Miss Bug sleeps in this cottage bed.  There are railings and she doesn't mind sleeping up close to the ceiling.
Cousin Samantha thought the playhouse part was FUN!

 Here's a homemaker training ground.

 Another housekeeping training spot.

 Ready for the pizza eaters!
Tails all ready!  Did you know there is an app called Genius Scan?  You can scan with your phone, email it to yourself, and then print.  Brilliant!
 Bingo!
 Sweet little guests
Miss Bug in the middle enjoying her party!
 Game players all lined up!

I thought the mermaid looked pretty with all her tails.
This is the big game day.  My friend gave me her meatball and sauce recipe and I am going to cook right before the Broncos take the field.  I'll take photos (of the meatballs!  Ha!)
I hope your first Feb. week is off to a lovely start.

Sweet little girls with such a creative, talented granny. Love the mermaid and those little girls will remember that birthday a life time. It is still snowing softly. Go Broncos.

I love your mermaid, and I would make that into a rug. It would be perfect. I love your drawings. I love the little girls all lined up.
What a sweet time you had and I like the stairway and the curtains. I love curtains too, but not a single one in the house. No one would let me. Someday though. I will sneak one in.
I hope you have a lovely day watching football.
We have a storm though nothing as impressive as all of that snow around you. Have a lovely day.

What an exciting start to February! I do love that party gathering, and the way all the light is infused with the bright clarity of the snow outside. Oh we would love some heavy white snow! Enough to keep us at for a day with willies and gloves and snowballs, and dripping scarves on radiators and marshmallows in hot chocolate and fire lit and cheeks also ablaze. Mmmm. I was thinking today about how I loved playing house, and imagining meals, and cosying down when I was a girl. It was something our minister said in church- about how you feel when your career hasn't turned out as well as it should and you feel frustrated, and all I was feeling was that warm sense of expectation in playing house and imagining meals and cosying down.

Great party! Our Broncos are not doing very well right now. Denver must be a sad town. :( Hopefully we can turn it around. Kit

What a fun and colorful party for Miss Bug!
She's very blessed to have an artist for a granny who can draw awesome mermaids to add to the fun!
Thanks for sharing. I've been planning something to send you too! :)

Happy birthday to Miss Bugs! That bed with the playhouse is so neat. I would have never wanted to leave the bedroom if I had this as a little girl! That is such an adorable idea with pin the tail on the mermaid. Enjoy the snow. :) It sounds like my part may be getting a good amount of snowfall on Wednesday.

Beautiful children, beautiful snow! I hope you weren't too disappointed by the Super Bowl. We had chili and it was good, but the game wasn't, was it?

Neat post today...I like that you have Mary Poppings flying all over. Looks like the little girls had a fun time at the party. Like that doll house and to be able to sleep on the roof...sounds like fun.

Karen, you did very well with the mermaid, looks like they had a lot of fun. As to curtains/drapes...yes and no to venetian blinds or anything one has to pull/roll up/down. I much prefer drawing the curtains/drapes against the night; it makes me feel cozy.

PomPom, your backyard is hardly visible. How are you coping with the cold? Anyway, looks like little bug had fun in her birthday party. Such cute little angels gathered together to celebrate. You did a good job with the mermaid. Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comment. Can I ask something? Does Steve has business in the Philippines?
Hope the Filipinos are kind to him.

Hope you have a good week.
