Swaying Palm Trees

Maui felt calm.  The pace is slow even though there are LOTS of walkers and runners along the paths.  We walked and walked because we are now wearing pedometers (I've been calling them our bumpers) and shooting for 10,000 steps. The happy part:  steps add up quickly.  Yay!

We had fun together, lots of fun!  Looking at this photo, I'm a little sorry that I cut my own bangs.
 Here's a slow little fellow.

This is a very scary sign, right?  We are now quite mature in our thinking; We don't like to get all sandy.  Jelly fish?  No thank you.  We were so close to the beach that we could hear it while we swam in the . . . swimming pool.  I do like bobbing around in the ocean, but with Bill's hip surgery looming so close, I didn't want him (or his nurse!) to take the chance of going head over heels, at the mercy of the South Pacific waves.
So, no surfing either.  As if!

A rainbow!  We're home now and the trusty furnace is pushing the temperature away from the 40's, into the high 60's (inside!).  Brrrrrr.
Flying through the night makes for a crunchy neck.  Bill's outside corralling the one million leaves that fell while we were away.
I am happy, happy, happy to be home.  I read a lot of novels during our vacation and I do believe that when you read partially sad stories, even if the characterization is remarkable, you can tend to feel a little burdened.  Words are powerful, duh.  So, I am going to take a break from brilliant fiction writing and restore my soul with Brambly Hedge and the shoe books (Ballet Shoes, Dancing Shoes, Theatre Shoes, and Skating Shoes).
I have lots of ideas for every-day-blogging!  I wrote them in my journal while we were away.  I'm feeling a bit fuzzy-headed so I am going to have another cup of coffee and some Halloween candy.
Thank you for coming by and reading.  Aloha!

I love that picture of you and Bill. You look so happy and rested. I always cut my own bangs so I thought yours look way better than mine.
The photos are lovely. I am so glad you are going to have another cup of coffee and more Halloween candy, that makes me laugh.
I missed you so now I am glad you are home. I hope it is a lovely fall day and you can put your feet up and rest. I am so glad you are going to write every day. I look forward to reading your lovely words and thoughts.
Happy Saturday,

Beautiful pictures, I've never been to Hawaii and Maui. Someday.
Your hair looks fine, take it from an old hairdresser. You and Bill look very happy. Oh my, it is always hard to come back from a vacation, but now you have good memories. Blog everyday...that surely will be a challange!!!

These pictures made me smile broadly- especially since it is cold and wet and stormy here! What a difference an ocean makes... I know what you mean about the weight of words.

I get totally absorbed in books and take on a touch of the characters! so I think I will choose carefully in future. Your holiday looked beautiful but a shame you couldn't go in the sea but what a fabulous shoreline to explore, Betty - p.s. thanks so very much for joining the swap it will be fun.

What a beautiful set of photographs which really conjure up a sense of place. You & Bill look so content & happy (and I don't think your fringe looks bad at all!) Best wishes for his hip surgery. Blessongs dear PomPom xx

Or even blessings!!! (I wonder if blessongs are songs that are particularly spiritual or peaceful!?)

Welcome home...
I recently started following your blog, love your cheerful spirit as well as the kindness that comes through your postings.
Have a lovely day!

P.S. I also cut my own bangs between haircuts and always regret it (not to mention my daughter is a hair stylist and would gladly come by to give me a trim!

Walking is what I wanted to do more of in Maui - must go back and have my way. :-)

Your bangs look perfect, so that if you hadn't drawn my attention to them I wouldn't have noticed anything but the radiant face they frame.
