Soft August and A Fine Romance

 Hello from my house!
Susan Branch's new book is a treasure.  We pulled into the driveway after dining with friends and there it was waiting at the door! I stayed up late reading it cover to cover.

All of the Beatrix Potter parts are beautiful.  By the way, Susan (SUCH a nice person) suggested a very lovely blog to me.  Blackberry Rambles.  Here is the link to her Beatrix Potter Summer School that she held for homeschool.  You'll LOVE it!  http://blackberryrambles.blogspot.com/2013/07/beatrix-potter-summer-school.html
It's all arranged so perfectly.  Beautiful!  Every page.

All of Susan's books are delightful.  Do you love her work as much as I do?  Favorite!
My friend Jennifer gave me this doll house. I have been annoyed by all the junk on top of my refrigerator.  I can't reach the serving bowls so I tucked them in here and now my refrigerator top is empty!  Bliss.  I will eventually use this for a doll house, when I can focus on furnishing it.  Now, it is a happy shelf.
I'm very sorry to bore you with more garden photos.  I can't help myself!  I'm so joyful about the growth of living things!

There is even a bad little toadstool growing in the grass.

Do you see the little gift nestled in the parsley?
Reve (the garden friend next door!) gave me a few zucchinis and I picked another basket of beans.  Yummy dinner!
Reve is such a nice giver.  She bought me some Jupiter's Beard to plant.  It's a lovely flower!
Here's another basil bunch! Thank you for your wonderful basil suggestions.  I am going to the store to buy fresh mozzarella cheese right away!

Let's have a little morning meeting.
You sit on the pink flowers.
I'll give you a few cookies with your coffee.
Here is my new challenge.  Memorizing.  I'm going to exercise my overloaded brain.
After being in Corrie Ten Boom's childhood home, I decided to use this daily devotional.  The entries are short and very good.  It's the perfect "back-to-school" necessity.
I have been visiting with many of my teacher friends.  In one week, I shall be back in my classroom.  I'll bring you along as I arrange and prepare.  I have looked at my rosters and I like the names of my students.  I am working with another teacher for one period where we will have the ELA kids.  They have BEAUTIFUL names!  I can't wait to meet them!
Maybe you should buy yourself a school supply or two.  How about a new pen?  A big box of crayons?  You probably need a sweet smelling eraser, don't you?  It's FUN!
It's only August.  August is a soft hushing month, don't you think?  I like it very much so far.
God be with you.  (That is what my grandmother used to say to my dad when he went out the door.  LOVE.)

I love that God be with you. Like that song? God be with you till we meet again. I love that song.
Your garden is very pretty. I do love your doll house shelf. It looks so nice with your dishes. I have to run errands today so I am going to look for that book.
Your devotional sounds fantastic. Yes, I always think new school supplies are in order. If you could see the boxes of them I found when I was cleaning the school room you would think I had a problem. So nice to see a post from you before I go out the door. You make me smile.

I do love your posts Pompom, even though I am supposed to be having a blogging break I find myself sneaking along for a peak a what you are doing! Your new book looks interesting, I will investigate at the library. I do think I might buy some stationery, it's long overdue - I don't even have one pen of my own! paintbrushes yes. Your garden looks beautiful and I would quite like to sit on the pink flowery chair and chat. Did I thank you for your postcard? I think I did but thankyou anyway just in case! Betty

I spied squash and parsley and peppers and basil amongst the flowers. Love it! I just love to eat squash. One of my grandbabies loves it too and I can't wait to share mine with her.

I like your doll house as a shelf. It's clever and cute.

The Susan Branch book looks so fun. I think I'll put it on my wish list for Christmas. Thank you for the nice preview.

God be with you.

I would love to sit in your comfy patio chairs. Yes, your flowers and plants look very healthy and obviously get more care than mine! I know I have mammoth squash out in my garden, but just haven't been able to get to them.
Love the Susan Branch book! I'll go visit that blog right now.
I hope you'll enjoy your school preparations!

It's a mini-marathon to get to the end of your comments, Pom!! haha :) I like that bunting in photo #1. A friend of mine made some like that. She made 3 strands and hung it between trees at an outdoor birthday party! She said it's time-consuming, but it looks so sturdy.

Your garden is certainly looking luscious! You must have done wondrous things with your soil first -- so important! My plants are pitiful, and I think that even my potted rosemary is dying - boohoo :(

Eventually I WILL get a copy of Susan's book. Might be a Christmas present at this point. It looks so interesting and FUN. Enjoy!!

I can't wait to get Susan's book! I hope it comes before we leave on our trip to the UK! I want to know any lovely places to stop......currently it is backordered with Amazon. Thanks for sharing some of the pages!

I hope your "back to school" goes well and you settle in quickly for the new year. Our schedule is all topsy turvy because of our trip but that is one reason we did some summer school....

I was just thinking how I want my younger two children to read The Hiding Place for one of their school bios but I can't seem to find my copy. I have Tramp for the Lord but I can't remember what it is about. I love all your flowers. You have a wonderfully green thumb!
