A Poppy and Patty Cake

I hope you had a sunny May Day!  It snowed here, but it is not going to snow anymore.  Is that perfectly clear?  It is not going to snow ANY MORE.  One of my friends told me that she remembers a snow storm that occurred in June.  These stories do not please me.
My sunny poppy and orange and yellow pansies please me very much!  I ordered a Hula Hoe (Kim at My Field of Dreams recommended this zippy and versatile garden tool!) and it came in a GIGANTIC box!  Soon I shall hoe my new dirt.  YAY!

Meanwhile, the sun came out on Sunday and two blue-eyed girls (3 counting their mama) came over to sit on the grass with us.

Birdie and Miss Bug came over later to roar around the driveway on their bikes, but Granny got too distracted to take photos of that sweet circus.
I would like to direct your attention to Lizzy's legs.  Are they not BEAUTIFUL?  Don't you think that baby legs are the PICTURE of beauty?  I do!  And baby hands?  She claps and claps.  She makes me wish my name was Patty Cake.
This is a work day at school (no kids, just tired teachers) and I hope to sort through all my piles and have a nice lunch with my fellow educators.  Everyone needs a happy boost about now.
I think this is a red lipstick kind of day.  SMOOCH!

Pom, little babies are just irresistible all around! Their soft, chubby legs, arms, hands, cheeks ... I do sometimes miss having a baby around! I adore that first photo of your little one, and the wide-eyed expression on her face -- what a hoot! Sounds like your weather is improving a bit, I hope :) Enjoy your slower day. May you see the end in sight!!

Oh, and I meant to say: Don't you think somebody should write a children's book with the protagonist named Patty Cake? That would be adorable!

Such cute little gals you got to spend time with. I know what you mean about baby legs being cute and kissable, just like baby cheeks, hands, feet, etc...
Enjoy your day with your fellow (tired) educators.

Well now that you have a hula hoe, I do hope you love yours as much as I love mine. I hope you find it easier than a regular hoe.
Yes, baby legs are just precious and your little girls are so lovely.
Oh we had Santa Ana winds yesterday. I know why East winds are considered bad. It was such a terribly hot day. We had fires all around us.
I would take some snow off your hands.
My flowers got so beat up.
I hope you don't have any more snow either.
Have a nice day today. Summer will be here soon.

On his Wild West Yorkshire blog, Richard Bell described his little baby niece's hands as reminding him of a Balinese dancer. I thought that was a good way of describing the dainty way babies move their hands.
Hope you had a good day at school. Not long now! Have a great and relaxing weekend! :)

G'day Pom Pom. Just love Poppies, we have them planted here. They do brighten any spot. Good luck with keeping the snow at bay. We are heading into our winter here in Australia, but in my part of this beautiful country there is no snow. But, there will be in lots of other areas. Babies are just the best, aren't they? All that chubbiness, how can you resist it. Take care. Liz...

Fabulous blue eyes and chubby little legs indeed. We are getting sunshine and it is warm and beautiful here - I have one solitary blossom on my apple tree. Can't wait for tomorrow - no work - walk in the woods! Yipee .... wish you were my neighbour so we could talk over the garden fence, dig and plant together and stop for tea in your wendy house. it does look like you are all enjoying spring despite your recent snow. must have been a quick melt. the good news: more moisture means less fire danger this summer.

those babies have the bluest eyes~!!~

All the baby bits are just so perfectly smooth & sweet Pom. I do rather fancy those butterfly flip flops (jandals we call them here) Golly your grass turned lush & green mighty quick then...can't dislike the snow too much. Isn't it astonishing how so much pollen gets all over the centre of those poppies!! I'd love to see your hula hoe in action...sounds like a hula hoop to me! Wishing you a very nice mild weather week. Much love Catherine x0x0x0

There is just something about baby arms and legs (and hands and feet) that is just perfect isn't there?

You have the most beautiful blue-eyed grand babies! Little Lizzy reminds me of her big sister at the same age. I hope you had a productive day!
