Spring Break Doings

On Tuesday I took some wedding photos for my dear friend and neighbor's daughter.  They are both busy physicians (the bride and groom) and they are having a big party at City Park later on this month.  They wanted a quiet, family wedding at home.  I felt so honored to be there shooting photos.  Doesn't she look happy?  She is THRILLED and so in love!
Cake!  Isn't this little "wedding" cake pretty?  Why don't I eat more cake?  It's so versatile!
I forgot to tell you that I went to Boulder with Kelli and the girls for an egg hunt.  My sweet niece Amy's husband is the pastor of a nice big church there.  Some of their church family members put on this Easter event.  What a gorgeous setting it was!  I just love our Amy.  She is the first of my parents' grandchildren and she is an astounding wife and mother.  She gives and gives.  She is just the right combo of conscientiousness and laid backness.  Does that make sense?  Well, I'm also thankful that I get to see my sister (her mom!) more now that Amy and her wonderful husband (and their four great kids!) have moved to my neck of the woods.
See what I mean?  It was the perfect country setting for egg hunting!

We ordered our garden redo.  The dirt arrives next week.  Bill said, "You had better plant bunny proof plants."  He's right.  There are already a zillion rabbits around here.
Sob, sob, sob.  My spring break is nearing its end.  Kelli and I went to lunch.  Jenny made my crown (for my tooth!) and assisted the doctor as she drilled away on my decades-old fillings.  Millie Rose is coming over for dinner tonight because her sisters have an engagement at school.  It's opening day tomorrow so Kelli and Bryan are going to the baseball game and I'll hang around their house for the afternoon, watching the girls.  April is taking me to tea on Saturday!  I'm excited about that!  I'll take lots of pictures.  I hope to see Jenny and her girls on Saturday night or Sunday.  Samantha is so smart and funny these days and Lizzy is six months old - a perfect age for babies, don't you think?
I have been ironing a lot.  I watched A Midsummer Night's Dream and Nanny McPhee.  Oh!  I watched Lark Rise, too!
I am knitting one little dish cloth.  So much for finishing a cardi!
I'll post again soon.  My camera battery is dead.  I have a fun little toadstool to show you AND some doodles.
Thank you for popping in.  I hope you are carving out some moments to read and think.  We can always use more moments to read and think, I always say.

Just knitting no reading here. I need MORE TIME.... What a nice egg hunt. Family is precious isn't it. You are lucky to have a close knit one.

My gosh, Pom, I can nearly feel the spring-y air in you pictures -- that sky!

I am ironing a lot, too - how did I get so behind? I have the ironing board set up in the LR so I can half-watch the baseball game with my husband and get caught up and together with him at the same time.

I LOVE reading and thinking!
I went to a little Foursquare Church in Boulder for several years back in the '70's. I have fond memories of "old Boulder" before it got big. The flatirons always make me feel a little homesick although none of my family lives there anymore.
(Well, my stepson and his wife live in Longmont.)
If spring break is over can summer be far behind? Yay!
(Are you guys getting a weird pop up ad when you post comments? I tried informing Blogger, but I'm not sure what they can do.)

I just sent my girls off in a big 'ol van full of home schoolers to the museum an hour away. With drive time and 'look and learn' time I figure I've got a good 4 hours or so to think and read! Bliss. :)

Blessings, Debbie

Reading and thinking... Yes, I just finished reading Square Foot Gardening and I'm so enthused and excited to start.

What fun to be the photographer at your friend's family wedding. They DO look happy. Such a sweet cake. What flavor was it?

Enjoy these last spring break days. (I know you will)
