Around Our Patch

I cleaned and tidied yesterday and because I moved a little red desk from the Pom Pom room up to the kitchen, I'm SO sore.

While we were sitting around the table eating hotdogs and hamburgers, Kelli said, "It's either feast or famine around this house when it comes to napkins."  True!  Why IS that?  Silly.

Pools and balls and girls!  By the time the granddaughters are here, I'm too flighty to grab the camera.

Guess who likes the Wendy House best?  Yes.  Me.
Brace yourself for a messy sight:  I've got a little work to do in my creative space.
Catherine at Angel in the Garden showed some photos of her sweatshirt repurposing.  Her creation was romantic and lovely, like she is!  Even though my plans worked out okay, the end product is well . . . weird.  Jeff said, "It's very grandmotherly.  That's a good owl!"  I'll wear this in the privacy of my own home.  I can't just show you the good stuff.  There isn't enough of it!
Oh, did you want to see our Jenny and her baby bump?  Yes, there she is!  LOVE!

You can tell that the earth around the lilies is VERY dry.  We need a little rain.  Can you spot the toadstool here?
Kelli has been "cat sitting" for this lovely boy.  His name is Cypress.  Look at his smart face!  I love his stripes.
I think instead of a workout, I need a walk today.  Yesterday when I was taking frequent "sit downs" while sweeping, mopping, moving things from one house level to the next, I thought, "Tomorrow, I am going to rest.  I am going to sit around."  It still sounds like a good idea.  Even though I'm going to sit around, I wanted to tell you about a cool website called MindShift.  This post shares how to prevent summer brain drain (it applies to grown ups, too!) Another link also has some creative ideas for playing and learning.  I found the suggestions inspiring.  It's good to get out, get around.
I've been enjoying all the interesting blog posts I've read over the last few weeks.  You're smart!
More later . . . bye bye!

Oh, you sweetie! You are such a bright, colorful person. I LOVE that you like the Wendy House best. I would too. I've always loved houses, dolls' houses, play houses. They fascinate me. I'm sorry to inform you that your creative room is NOT messy. You'll have to work harder at that. if you can still see the floor that well, it's not messy yet - haha!!
You know, the only photo in this post that looks like "me" is the one with the gray kitty and the white bed -- nice boring colors, a plain palate. That's what's neat -- I love your colorful creativity b/c it's something I can't get, but I love seeing it in others! Please do relax and enjoy your summer and refresh your mind. And DON'T haul anything else big up the stairs! Happy Toadstools!

It is nice to get caught up with you. I love rearranging things. I love taking one thing from one room and how it looks brand new in a different place.
My hubby went back to work today. You know, big projects that have to be done? I am rattling around trying to remember how it is when I am alone.
I laughed about the napkins. It is so true, it is always feast or famine at our house too with napkins.
I am going to take my book and go out to the swimming pool and sit under an umbrella and just enjoy life.
Have a great day Pom Pom

Good to see what you're up to! We're just loafing around and enjoying the temps in the '80's instead of the '90's! Take it easy!

Hi Pom Pom! I hope you had a good day of rest yesterday. You gave us a lot of links to visit. Yes, those repurposed sweatshirts are very lovely and romantic...I like all that lace and the flowers. They look much better on the hangers than they would on me however (sigh)...

Your photos of the colorful balls floating in the colorful pools are so peaceful and fun at the same time. Of course, when the little ones arrive, no more serenity!

Now I need to visit a couple more of your links....

Pom, it's so hot here that I stayed on my Wendy room only 30 minutes or so. Just too hot today; it's been a wash out. Took a nap, thinking of going to bed early.
Think I'll visit MindShift instead; thanks for the link!
