Toadstool Head

Tomorrow it's back to school for me.  I do miss the cute sixth graders, so I look forward to seeing them.  The idea of staying there for hours and hours doesn't sound as fun as goofing off around home, but . . .
Change of subject!  It is still very cold here.  Walking around the neighborhood, I must be careful!  Icy!

When I should have been grading papers I was sewing spots on my toadstool hat!  It's my pixie hat - finished!  I had to borrow a head to get some good photos of it.  Do you like it, Winter People?

It really is gorgeous in Colorado.  I'm thankful that we live here and our kids live here, too.
Bill is leaving for the Philippines on Wednesday.  He'll get a big dose of warm weather.  Meanwhile, I'll keep crunching around on the ice, wearing a toadstool on my head.
I hope your week is off to a jolly beginning.
Thank you very much for your friendly hello.

Cute toadstool hat. Who was the lucky model?

I see you are meandering about in nature. I liked those pics. Is that a magpie atop that evergreen tree?

Happy Back to School!

Good luck going back to work. I know what you mean--you do end up missing your students. I don't go back until next week, but I need to do planning this week. The toad stool is just cute. Where do you get your cool backgrounds. I have spent an hour tonight trying to retool my blog. Your's always has so much life, so much color.

You have my attention! toadstools are my favourite subject when I'm not hugging trees! Your toadstool hat is fun - the red spotty ones are 'fly agaric' a hallucinogenic - bo flying in that hat now! Talking of flying, we have gale force winds this morning and it is a bit scary, all the rubbish bins have blown up the road and Amber refuses to go outside. Take care on the ice. Bettyx

I was already admiring your toadstool background, and now you have a toadstool head! I need to take a photo of two tiny toadstools I bought when I was in the UK. I'll post it for you some time... Stay warm!

Thank you! Jody, Jeff was the "willing" model for the toadstool hat and you can see my white hair in one photo! My arm isn't long enough to get the angle I wanted!
Hi Flavia! The pattern for the pixie hat is on Ravelry. It was SO easy! Yes! Your Christmas card is greatly loved! Now I can mail you a letter! I'm so happy to have your address!
Thank you for thinking of me as I go back to school, friends!
Wow, Floss! The toadstools you have sound very cute! I'd love to see a photo!
Oh and Betty! I have never seen a red toadstool here. I know we have many poison mushrooms. Don't worry. I like looking, not eating! Thank you, good woodland friend!

Your Colorado pictures are so beautiful to this Alabama girl! I've always dreamed of visiting your beautiful state. Maybe one day.... It's cold here this morning ~ 19 degrees! But we don't get the beautiful snow to go with our cold like you do.

I love your hat! I hope you have the instructions on your blog somewhere. I would love to make one! I'm going to do a little search right now to see if you've tucked them into one of your posts.

I wish you a warm and blessed New Year, friend!

It's fantastic!! I love that you sewed buttons on to give it an all out toadstool feel.

I hope you told Bill to eat lots of sweet delicious mangoes while he's in the Philippines.

Blessings!

Back to school! Ah, well. You are doing very worthwhile work, dear. The hat is precious. I love the pics of the birds. They always look so cold to me, in winter! Their few feathers do not seem adequate to the task!
