Brand New Atticus

Atticus Jeffrey is beautiful!  He looks like his brother Finnegan!  I can't wait to see him.  He and his mama will stay at the hospital until Wednesday.  Bill and I want to drive up to see the happy family on Saturday morning.  Praise God for a new little man.  Thank you for your prayers, kind friends.
I've been drawing birds and designing new feathers.  Have you been seeing bird images everywhere like I have?  Birds are so symbolic.
This is the season of pink sky mornings.  I grab my camera and hurry outdoors to capture the fleeting pink and turquoise greetings from the Creator.  Good morning, sky watchers.

While we were waiting for the Atticus phone call on Sunday, I took up my sewing.  Miss Bug's birthday is on Groundhog Day and I wanted to finish her rag quilt.  I'm so happy with it!  It's just heavy enough for comfort and soft enough for cuddles.  Rag quilts are so easy to make.  I'm thinking about making a big cozy covering for our bed!  Miss Bug will be three on her birthday. What a great age!

Good bye, January.  Thank you for hosting the baby that came into our lives on Sunday.  Atticus's daddy Brad was also born in January and I must say that was a very bright January back in 1981.  Hello, February!  Kelli came two years later at the beginning of the love month.  Now Kelli has two heart girls with February birthdays, too!
Are you going to make some Valentines?  I'd like to make them for my 130 students, but I'm not sure I can pull that off.  Maybe.
I pray for blessings on YOUR path today.  I hope you hear the rush of angels' wings and find peace filling the corners of your good soul.

Beautiful post :)
Congratulations - a very beautiful babe.
Please will you say how to do the quilt - what material is it, and how do you get the edges like that?
Love ya.

Congratulations on the new addition to the PomPom family. And what a splendid name Atticus is - if he lives up to Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird" you will have much to be proud of! God bless you all.

Mr D isn't a great one for Valentine's Day...but usually I will try to buy some chocklits that we can share. Your plan of Valentines for 130 students is very ambitious - good luck with that!

LOVE the name!!! I ma so glad he is here, I was sitting and praying last night and I was wondering if he was here yet, I am so glad. He is just beautiful. Isn't it nice to remember when they were born? I am so glad you get to see him on Saturday.
Have a wonderful day!

What a wonderful little boy (with a great name). I really enjoyed your words too - how interesting that the birthdays cluster together like that. Son 1 and I are within days of each other, and Son 2 is near his granny's birthday - I think everyone enjoys that!

Welcome to the world, Baby Atticus! What a precious blessing.

I love your happy post. I do hope to make some Valentines. I would like to make enough for every family in our small church. We'll see if I can get "a round tuit." :)

I'm off to kindergarten this morning. I'm volunteering again. Love those little ones! Wishing you a blessed day!

Congratulations to Atticus for his arrival and to all his family too.

Elizabeth Goudge talks about birds a lot...I like birds but haven't really tuned into them very much; I don't know why. I should pay more attention!

My dad was born on Groundhog Day in 1922, at 2 minutes after 1:00. Lots of 2's! He's gone now...my mom as well.

February is here tomorrow...the month of hearts. Wishing you a happy heart today and the rest of this week, with many blessings.

Oh such a beautiful baby boy! And I love the name -- I bet he grows up to be just as wonderful, wise, & kind as the Atticus we know and love from "TKaM".

I am delighted to hear of Atticus's safe arrival. Hope you get the opportunity to travel to him soon.

Also, what a stunning sunrise. I always think when you see something as stunning as that - how can people not believe there is a creator greater than us.

Good job on the quilt too - it looks great for snuggling.

Hi PomPom - blessings to baby Atticus, what an unusual name - my hubby tells me it may be the name of a place in the USA? I hope you get lots of cuddles with him soon. Valentines Day with your students - how about some love heart sweets? you could have a big bowl full and share them out at break time. Also if you had time, you could make a card for each student and write in it 'I love that you are my student because...' naming a quality in each person that you appreciate? Oh, I want to come and be your teaching assistant! your class must have such great lessons with you. Bettyx

Congratulations! Woo hoo! Welcome, Atticus! My daughter is thinking of names for her September baby and I'll have to mention Finnegan and Atticus.

I LOVE the soft pastel colors of your little quilt. Maybe I could try my hand at a quilt for Audrey.

Congratulations again,Grammy!

Congratulations. Little Atticus is perfect. So sweet. I thought he was due in April. did I miss something? Probably. We have had some pretty clouds both morning and evening of late, haven't we? You are ambitious to photograph the morning sky. It is all I can do to get out the door with my school back and lunch. Love the quilt, so will the little one. Hang in there until the week-end.

I love your "rag quilt." It looks so cuddly and comfy.
I love that name Atticus! In our family we have absolutely no one born in January...it would really be nice to have a birthday to celebrate in that wintry month. Praise God for bringing this fresh soul into the world!
