Surprise Snow Day!

A snow day for ME!  There's nothing like an unexpected day at home!  As you can see, my blanketed car was parked outside all night!
My neighbor helped me clear the driveway. I wore my pajamas, because this is an inside day!
I've been craving perked coffee!  We have very little room for appliances in our kitchen, so I brought my percolator in from the garage and I am enjoying hot coffee with LOTS of cream!

It's a candle lighting day, too!
I took my fake flowers from the posts they were tied to and shoved them in an empty vase.  They're pretty for fakes, aren't they?  Look at the leftover Halloween candy.  Ugh.
Speaking of Halloween.  We went to the Sweet Peas' house.
 It was very scary there.

 A little cat - captured!
Maybe I'll knit!
Thank you for all your rich and delightful comments about school lunches!  Yesterday's fare was smothered burrito and beans.  YUM!
Oh, and I DID go to the tea shop and it was VERY disappointing.  I guess it's a fancy "have a cup of exotic tea" sort of place.  It was much too sparse for my "more is more" preferences.  Happy Homemaker UK has lived in Denver and she told me about another good tea shop closer to the city.  I'll have to visit there.
I ordered the yarn for my pixie hat. Maybe it will come today.
The snow is falling.  It's still before 10 am.  I love being home!

I am glad you are home too. Yay for a snow day. I have friend in Littleton and she drives a school bus and she is very happy too.
It looks like the best kind of day.
We are having a dust storm and Santa Ana winds, it is a East winds and you know they never do anyone any good. I think I would like snow.
I hope you get to knit lots and lots.

Love the knitting. Are you making socks? It reminds me of the yarn I'm currently working with. I love knitting socks! Happy snow day!

How disappointing about the tea shop!

But, what a thrilling gift, a snow day at home. Your fresh perked coffee with lots of cream sounds so divine! You have invited us into your special, joyful day today...I think you!

What cute little kids. Snow Brrrrr! It's cold today here and it's not even snow. Your color choice on your knitting is pretty.Cheri

I cannot believe that snow! What a good thing you got the 3adventurers off on their tour before that happened!

Hooray for a snow day and for being home! Looks like you're nesting in and making everything all cozy. The coffee -- oh yum! I love brewed too.

Have a lovely day at home, Pom Pom.

What a special surprise to have a snow day! I imagine will see our first snow either this month or next. Last year it was in November, so it just might be this November too.

I hoping you are enjoying a relaxing and cozy day!

Blessings!

hehehe that little kit tie is adorable! And the witches are scary cute! We have really nice temperatures, still up in the 70's, it's not hot so I can't complain. I am turning into a coffee person, my neighbor across the hall at school always invites me over to her classroom to get coffee and now I miss her when she's not there because I know I won't get coffee, okay and I miss her because she's a sweetie too hehehe =)

I love snow days because I love those days where not only do you not have to go anywhere, you can't go anywhere (that's how it is here in the South anyway--when it snows, you definitely want to stay off the road). Perfect day for knitting!

Sounds like a gorgeous way to spend an indoor day. What a blessing an unexpected day off is.

I am sorry to hear that your trip to the tea shop was not such a success.

Dear Pom Pom I just had to tell you that my son who is 16 has me read that book to him every spring. Isn't that funny. He has always loved my stories and when he was much younger I read it to him. So when it starts turning into spring he always asks.
Right now he is on a Mark Twain kick and we are almost finished with Huck Finn. He looked at me and said, " Can we start it over." He laughs at things that I think I might have to explain. I told him we would just do Tom Sawyer. Maybe a Yankee in King Arther's
Court too. My kids have always enjoyed being read aloud and now they are doing it with their own families. It makes me so happy.

Oh my goodness!! I can't believe all of that snow. Looks like you are making the most of it. I love pj's and coffee on a snow day.
Your little Sweet Peas are indeed scary ... in an adorable sort of way :).

More is more...oh, Pom Pom, that is greatness. I've never heard it put like that, but what a perfect way to put what I intuitively think and do. Love that creamy coffee! Stay warm!

Don't you just love snow days? We had ours last week. UNC never ever closes, but with electric lines down and trees broken to pieces, the gods that be declared no school. Your little tick or treaters are really cute.

Your coffee can looks like it may be Folgers Columbian! During our holiday in Florida we filled our suitcase with this coffee as we like it a lot - we have a percolator every day, a little bit of America in our home. I am drinking some right now! Happy coffee drinking, friend! I hope you get to build a snowman, knit and enjoy being home. Bettyx

Oh Pom Pom I do fancy a job as the keeper of the kettle. When I was a student dental nurse along time ago I made a friend of dear old Mrs Cook who made the morning tea..she was a warm soft kind kettle keeper.
Very sensible to have lunch made for you.
Wood stacked just in time by the looks. I am not disappointed that we do not have snow. It looks nice but I'm such a sook when it comes to the cold.
No, no that will never do..we simply don't do sparse or minimalist now do we!
Great yarn..kind of has a coloured in with crayons look about it.
Much love Catherine x0x0x

I LOVED hearing about your snow day! Pajamas outside, creamy coffee, fake flowers. You can make an occasion out of anything! :D

Thanks, also, for reminding me that a small home can still be a creative and wonderful place. Even if the kitchen is small (no room for a percolator) it can be cozy and full of wonderful sights and aromas.

Speaking of creativity, I think a very creative mommy designed the Sweet Peas costumes! I love the little spider on the veil. And I loved the cat costume. I had one just like it when I was in my third grade Halloween play!!

Cold winds are blowing here, but I'm hoping the snow will hold off until we're all finished moving and putting up fences for the horses!

Thanks again for a fun-filled post, Pom Pom!

Wow - a snow day! We don't get them so often over here, although did have a few before Christmas last year, so fingers crossed.

Those scary Sweet peas look absolutely gorgeous, I bet they really enjoyed the fun.
