Tea for the Garden

Shall I be Mother?  For the flowers?  Isn't this an adorable watering can?  I thought I might keep the grands busy watering.  Everyone loves to mess around with water.

I still haven't moved the gnomes outside to the fairy garden.  Why? I need more ribbon to festoon the entry posts with fake (but pretty!) flowers and bows.  The gnomes have been hanging out here since Christmas.  It's time for them to go out and do gnome things!

Rat a tat tat!  Rat a tat tat!  I am going around the edges of the apron.  Really? I should have just lined it with something soft.  Working with tiny double-fold bias tape is making me feel like a very stressed shoemaker!  It's almost finished.  Photos to come.  I wish it made me look slimmer.

I added some sunflower sunshine to the three bears table.  Bill won't really like having the table in the middle of the kitchen, but I do.  I'm the boss.

I'm vacuuming and vacuuming.  I'm tired.  The kids arrive tomorrow morning, so I'll fill up the pool after I have my morning coffee.  Bug, Birdie, and Millie stopped by for lunch today.  They wanted to get things started.  I think I am going to have quite the grandchild crowd in the next few days!  Bring on the chaos!  I'll take some pictures of our "adventures" but if the photos turn out messy, I may not post them.  I don't like messy pictures.  I'm weird like that.  Also, I get a little over-responsible when I'm in charge and often forget to snap, snap, snap.  Oh!  I hung the vintage tablecloth curtains, so I only have two tablecloths left and I want to make pillows. I guess I shall not have a tablecloth skirt.  Unless . . . I go thrift store shopping.  That sounds fun, doesn't it?  Are you loving the birds at the feeder and the love doves as they coo, coo, coo?  Are you eating enough ice cream?  Gumbo Lily is!  I had Oregon Blackberry yesterday AND today.  No wonder my pants are getting snug!  Oh no!  Do you like going down the seasonal aisles at the big stores?  Water toys, picnic supplies, and garden ornaments remind us that we are safe here and there is fun to be had and having fun is glorious when there are people around.  It's good to live in the shire!

Oh, Pom, you ask so many questions, I never know what to say! :) I adore the apron, and esp. the piping on the edges. The watering can is a lovely color. I definitely want pictures of the grandkids, and yes, Bill will just have to accept the table there, because it looks so happy :) Sunflowers!! And gnomes: don't you wish you had the REAL kind, that wandered around in your garden? That would be fun!

That is one super cute watering tea pot!!!! Where did you find it? You better slow down and get some rest before everyone shows up. You are such a fun memory making grandma!

I must add one more thing -- your kitchen floor is so utterly CLEAN! I'm very impressed. My floor never looks like that. Too old to look pretty. And you asked about seasonal aisles at stores. I don't particularly like the summery ones, but I love it when the autumn decor comes out, even the tacky plastic pumpkins, etc. I adore anything to do with the fall.

I think there will be a queue of small people for the teapot waterer - I use a red cast iron le creuset hob kettle for mine! it's a very extravagant use of a kettle but I don't have a huge range cooker to heat it on so it is being put to good alternative use, beautiful thiings should be seen and used. Three bears table looks good and ready for action, sunflower cloth put to good use. Wish I was coming, I would sit in your paddling pool with ice cream and talk to the gnomes. Bettyx

I love your notebook paper background. It is so cute! And of course I love! love! love! the teapot watering can.
Our gnomes are out front with the roses which are dried up from the heat.

Sounds like preparations are coming along nicely and you don't sound stressed at all. Way to go grandma!

And I'm loving the apron. Do we get to see you model it?

Blessings, Debbie

You've created quite a magical kingdom in your home. You have a knack for that. Do we get to see the vintage tablecloth curtains? Or did I miss them in a previous post? Going to look. Enjoy those little people! :)

Terrific watering can(s). My grandgirl LOVES to water everything with a sippy cup and when I brought out the watering can, she loved that too. Pouring water is very fun, isn't it? Especially when you can water pretty flowers and perhaps your cousins and siblings.

The kitchen looks great and I like the table in the middle too.

Enjoy Granny Camp and eat more ice cream!

That gnome sitting on the shelf in the light blue tunic and red cap looks mighty sassy to me. You'd better keep an eye on him!

Hi,
So happy to come here via the Crafty Crow where we shared our fav book - The Saggy Baggy Elephant and the Accordion book.
I love your pictures and your little tea pot for the garden. Wish you have tons of fun when your grand-kids come home. Sometimes, the chaos is more appealing than 'quiet', isn't it? :)

Everything looks so grandchild friendly/fun in your cosy nest! I know your littles will have a grand time with their most fun Granny Pom. My little peeps are going home tomorrow. I will miss them! I will recover in a week or two ;).
Your teapot watering can is the cutest thing & I love your apron! I don't blame you for not enjoying the endless bias tape chore - tedious!
Have fun & take naps ;).

A real kitchen absolutel;y must have the table in the midle of the room! Yes, I'd love to go thrifting with you; yes, I love the birds; yes, I've just had a big bowl of ice-cream with strawberries from the (real) strawberry patch; oh my word, yes, that seasonal aisle! I deliberately haven't gone down at all this summer because I am ridiculously ridiculous, especially if I think it would be a pretty addition to camping equipment! And, unbeknownst to PC, I spent £30 in the newsagents last week on Mollie Makes II and just two colouring/doodle books for boys- for the suns on holiday. £30!! But they are amazing books! I have had an idea about colouring /doodle books. It came to me today when I was watching Jo colour and helping a bit and wishing I had some colouring/dooldling to do around verses I'm considering this week- you should publish a colouring/finish the doodle book themed around verses and your thoughts. You should. I want one!
