Millie Rose

Prayers of thankfulness are floating up to heaven for dear Millie Rose born yesterday around dinner time! Her mama is calm and delighted. Her papa is proud and relaxed. Her sisters are thrilled and her grandparents and her aunties and uncles are feeling very rich about now. Isn't she precious? Birdie kept saying, "She's so cute! She's adorable!" Miss Bug kept asking, "Up! Up!" She loved looking at her tiny baby sister, just a few hours old.

With her daddy. Isn't he blessed? Three darling daughters!

Weighing in at seven pounds ten ounces. Nineteen inches long.

Pink and beautiful!

So fresh and sweet. I'm so glad to meet her!

Birdie and Bug are all JOY! They have been happy little clams for Granny.

We baked and "decorated" cookies! I think "The Whos" would like these tasty cookies, adorned with a variety of gummy goodies.

Here! Have one! I'll make you a cup of tea.

It's peaceful here in the morning. The greens wrapped around the banisters, the tree lighting up the living room, and the dogs keeping me company while the girls sleep upstairs.

And this sweet book that came in the mail just yesterday . . . bliss. Written just after World War II ended, it delivers positive appreciation for the simple pleasures found in every day life. Each one of you would adore it. Gladys Taber was a special woman, full of optimism, laughter, deep love and HOPE. Happy homemakers are hopeful. This morning when I let the dogs out back for their morning business, it was still and quiet so I sang, "Holy. Holy. Holy. Lord God Almighty. Early in the morning, my song shall rise to Thee." I could hardly get the words out because I am so thankful, so relieved my daughter is safe and well and that HER daughter is pink and healthy. My portion is generous. I am awestruck.

Is there anything sweeter than a newborn baby? Look at those sweet, fat cheeks. Congratulations to all of you!

I loved the Taber book. I need to reread her Stillmeadow books. It's been a long time. Enjoy it.
