Sunday Song Day

Bill says I sing when I'm happy. This morning I am humming and singing a Psalm. Thou O Lord art a shield about me . . . YOU are the glory and the lifter of my head . . . I lifted my head, moved my eyes up the chimney to recognize my over achieving sunflower. Don't you love the way sunflowers reeeeeeeeeeeach up as high as they can to kiss the blue in the September sky? Remember the movie Calendar Girls? Oh, how I loved the way it treated the sunflower. She really is a grand girl and she has such a lovely name.

If I could wear this color blue every day I would LOVE my clothes. It reminds me of the clear tropical water of the South Pacific and the color of Winnie the Pooh's balloon.

I think the fairies have their eyes on my nasturtium leaves. They just might pile them up and serve platters and platters of fairy cakes when they host September parties.
The wind is blowing the boughs of the maple trees. They are so full and I think the Swiss Family Robinson could build a fine tree house in the maple across the street. I could watch them go about their business, hanging out the washing and peering out their spy glasses. It's hard to fathom that soon the cold weather will color the leaves and push them off the branches. See why I love September?

I like your description of "overachieving." There is something very powerful about a sunflower...so dramatic, bold, stately, and solid.
The song you are singing is one of my favorites!

Hello My Sunny, Singing, Sweet Friend...I've missed you! Thanks for welcoming me back to BlogLand. I've missed so much and want to catch up with what's going on in POMPOM Land. I know you must be back in the swing of school and into all those 8th grade issues and tissues! I'll be back to browse your posts, and say hello soon....Sue

I'm straight off to find my DVD of Calendar Girls... What on earth did they do to sunflowers? I'm glad you're singing at the end of a week of school!

Pom Pom you are so talented. You take such great pictures. I wish I could get a lesson so I can get good using my new camera. I have to get busy...not much time to learn survival Spanish or to learn my camera. You inspire me.
Your sister,
Kristi

How fun to imagine the fairies serving up platters of fairy cakes on nasturtium leaves. I wonder if when they are done their cakes if they would eat the platter too :o)?

Happy Sunday to you!
