Thank You!

Oh, sweet blog reading friends, thank you very, very much for your warm wishes for my first day of school. This first week is preparation and meetings. The students don't start school until Monday. My room is very bare now, but I am working at feathering it all up for the kids' arrival next week. Several times during the day yesterday I thought, "It's as if I never left this place!" It's my seventh year of teaching. I am still a newbie.
You are so nice, so thoughtful and empathetic. I am feeling all those prayers and good wishes. It feels SO good to know that kind people are thinking about me. THANK YOU.

It's our Finnegan's second birthday! Happy Birthday, Finn! He is two years old today! I wish I could see him, but I must wait until Saturday. He's coming for lunch and bringing his family (smile!) and we shall have a picnic, roar around the yard and celebrate Finn. He's our only grandson. When Millie arrives in December, we will have six granddaughters and FINN! He's a prince.

Birdie got a new bike yesterday! She's so happy. Look at Miss Bug. She has baby doll in hand, no shoes, just her diaper. She is a good sport and was quite supportive of her sister as she watched from her little red rider.

This isn't the best picture, but these guys were jumping on top of a loaded wagon of tree scraps when I drove by the other day. They were having so much fun up there. They were kind enough to smile for my camera. So, I hope to jump into my school day today, peacefully learning new things (Thinking Map training this morning) and readying my room for one hundred 13 and 14 year old souls. Thank you for checking in and thank you for caring. (BIG HUG AND SQUEEZE!)

Good Morning Pom Pom Sweetie...
Oh you are going to do fine, and yes you do have a challenge with 13 and 14 year olds, as I have 2 - 13 year old grandkids and 1 - 14 year old grandkid. When they are all together they are quite the hand full.

Love the pics of the grand daughters, they are just precious. Especially Little Bit with her babydoll, just priceless. Loving that little prince too. What a doll. (We have 4 - grandsons and 4 - grand daughters.) Half and Half we call them.

Thank you for being a wonderful educator to our children of the future. You my dear have the MOST important job of all. Have a beautiful day.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Oh those cute babies! Happy birthday to Finn!
And seeing those trees reminds me of how impressed Leah was by all the gorgeous pine trees, etc. in Colorado. She said it looked like Narnia and called them Narnia trees ;-).

Happy Birthday to Finn. He is such a doll and he has such a great name. Thomas the Tank Engine was a favorite with both of my boys. We have an attic full of trains from when they were little and I can't wait to have a grandson (well, I can wait a little bit) to share them with. Saturday will be such a fun time for you guys.

So glad you are getting settled in at school and preparing for a new year. I pray it is a blessed one for you and your students.

Happy birthday to Finn--love that name! I hope that even if it feels like you never left school, you at least feel rested and rejuvenated and ready to go forth.

Finn is excited to be with you! That picture of Sophie was great! Is she taking the bike off road? She looks ready to climb a mountain!

I spent ysterday at a CoRT 1 Edward de Bono training session, and felt like you! It was really excellent- I think you would have loved it. Lots of ideas for encouraging minds to value thinking outside the black/white box, of valuing the interesting and the other and imagining what could happen next. What will happen next in your classroom that little place of heaven on earth?
